Team Obama confident Biden can take on Ryan despite new gaffe

DANVILLE, Va.— The Obama campaign said Tuesday it is confident Vice President Biden will be an effective foil against GOP vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan despite his latest gaffe.

Biden on Tuesday made headlines when he told a crowd here that the GOP ticket’s policies would put “y’all back in chains.” The remark was about Wall Street regulations, but the Romney campaign seized on the imagery of slavery to say Biden and Obama had hit a new low.

The unscripted comments highlighted Biden’s propensity for off-the-cuff statements —which at times have caused the White House embarrassment. But Biden aides say the occasional slip-ups are far outweighed by the positives that the vice president brings to the table.

“Vice President Biden has been the president’s partner and top surrogate on the campaign trail and no one is fighting harder to ensure the president is reelected in November,” a campaign official said. “He continues to travel across the country making the case for what’s truly at stake in this election and why President Obama is the right choice for middle class workers and their families.”

I think it was more calculated then that. I think he chose him because no one would want Biden to take the office of Prezbo in the real possibility Obama would be impeached.

LOL So, raw fear of Biden being President works in Obama's favor? I can see where you're coming from... Good point.

Turns out he didn’t need Biden as an impeachment shield.
His impenetrable melanin-based impeachment shield proved to be sufficient.

A boy from Penn. saying y’all. Give me a break.

Biden was beyond pandering - he was 'rich white boy acting black'. Which is tacky. But worse - Biden wasn't acting middle class black - like the people in the audience - he was acting 'ghetto black'. New Black Panther black - which was stupid... and insulting.

Maybe next time he can do his 'ya all' thing in black face.
