More DHS employees come forward with accounts of 'lewd' conduct in wake of suit

Two more Department of Homeland Security employees have come forward to complain about the "lewd" work environment inside the agency, submitting sworn affidavits that depict graphic comments made by two top officials working under DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano.

The affidavits were given as part of a discrimination and retaliation suit filed earlier this year by James T. Hayes Jr., the head of the New York office for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Hayes claimed that Napolitano presided over a female "frat-house"-style department that routinely humiliated male staffers.

The two new affidavits described separate incidents in 2009. Both accounts described the actions of ICE chief of staff Suzanne Barr, who was also mentioned in Hayes' lawsuit.

One of the employees claimed that in October 2009, while in a discussion about Halloween plans, the individual witnessed Barr turn to a senior ICE employee and say: "You a sexy" (expletive deleted).

"She then looked at his crotch and asked, 'How long is it anyway?'" according to the affidavit.

"Several employees laughed nervously," the affidavit said. The names of the workers making the claims have been redacted.

The other account recalled a trip to Colombia in late 2009, attended by ICE Director John Morton, Barr and Ray Parmer, who is special agent in charge for Homeland Security Investigations in New Orleans.

Absolutely right...This is sick stuff, especially because it’s going on in the high circles of our nations supposed national security.

It’s things like this I expect to see taking place in third world countries.

It also tells me it’s a good thing I’m a prepper because I can’t count on their FEMA people helping during and after an emergency. They would be hanging out at the local pub, drunk.

Actually not so ridiculous if not exaggerated, but just a bit.

Women in the main have yet to learn how to handle authority. They tend to be extremely sensitive to any perceived slight or challenge to their authority and over react.

Those not in a position of authority tend to be cliquish with other women and allied against males in general in their work place. I have personally witnessed on more then one occassion women charge men with sexual harrassment for something as innoccuous as a compliment on their appearance (I was a witness, the man said, “Wow, you really look sensational”. There was no warnong to this guy, the woman didn't ask him to not say things like that in the future, she never sought to peacefully settle what she believed was harassment but immediately complained to management.

Her attempt at bringing the roof down on the guy failed because there was a witness and the comment was a harmless one and in the least suggestive.

My point is women use their sexuality as they have throughout the ages to make their way in the world. They claim to want equality but what they really want is to be afforded all the rights men have PLUS be given special treatment because they are the “weaker sex”

So based on your personal experience you support a broad brush statement to which I posted a response and state that it was just a bit of an exaggeration?

I can provide you with specific examples that I have both witnessed and experienced in my professional career which extends from females with a chip on their shoulder to unprofessional immature males.

This has never resulted in me using a broad brush to paint all males in the workplace as perverts or all females as looking for a way to claim harassment.

If you would like to have a discussion about character, personal responsibility and performance by both males and females in the work place as well as the differences between males and females and how they perform including females use of "sexuality" and males use of "strength and stature" to move forward in their careers, I would happily have that philosophical discussion.

This article highlighted disgusting behavior by unprofessional people. The generalization of “females” ruining the workplace vs. people both males and females who don't understand appropriate professional behavior is what I was responding to and I still stand by my response that the statement was ridiculous.

Sounds like fun. My experiences are merely anecdotal but I do have a work history dating back to 1963 (talking serious jobs, not paper routes etc)and extending thru 1994 when I retired. My position is simple, their so called "equality" having come to them recently they have not learned how to handle authority they are given and have a strong tendency to over manage. If you are interested I can cite you quite a few examples. I realize men can be as bad as women in many respects but in the area of pure pettiness and over reaction to problems in the work place women have no equal, imo opinion and experience.
