One of the leading lights of the pro-life movement in the United States has gone out. Nellie Gray, the charismatic octogenarian founder of the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., the largest annual pro-life event in the country, passed away over the weekend, and was discovered in her apartment earlier today.

Gray, who was once described by Cardinal Sean O’Malley as the “Joan of Arc” of the pro-life movement, was an ubiquitous figure at the pro-life march every year, her slight frame standing at the podium at stage centre, introducing the many luminaries who addressed the crowd of several hundred thousand during the rally before the march.

Nellie Gray spent more than half of her 86 years trying to stop the shedding of innocent blood in America. She was a woman of principle and a woman of great aility as well. She gave up what could have been a lucartive legal career (she had a law degree) to defend the rights of people who could never pay her back in any way, shape or form.

Not in this life.

But she will have her reward now. God bless her.

God rest her soul. Nancy Pelosi and the NAGS are probably dancing in the streets.

Not my place to judge but I rather be Nellie Gray standing before God making an accounting for my life on this earth than be Nancy Pelosi standing before God and trying to account for my actions.

Nellie will be missed here on earth, but her celebration in Heaven with the angels and the saints will be magnificent!

Nellie’s dedication to the prolife movement most likely saved hundreds of babies from death over the past 40 years.

Well done, good and faithful servant!
