California may have high taxes and high unemployment, but its residents have one of the nation's lower rates of obesity, according to a new report from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
While the agency says more than a third of American adults are obese, it's just 23.8 percent in California. Other states range from a high of 34.9 percent in Mississippi to 20.7 percent in Colorado.
The report also found that obesity rates are much higher than average among African Americans- nearly 50 percent - and Latinos and tend to be higher among low-income adults.

They spend all their time working out, counting calories and extricating money from hard working, productive citizens. Hence, they have no time to become informed on the real facts behind political issues.
Californian’s are healthier because they have more government and pay higher taxes. Duh!
CA has so many skinny people because those who work to pay the taxes have no time or money left to eat.
Skinny, poor and unemployed is just another lousy way to go thru life.

How is that possible? By definition a poor person can’t afford to spend a lot of money on food. Oh, I get it! “Low-income” doesn’t include the heavy taxpayer funded subsidies that enable them to swell up like a tick tapping into an artery.
Makes sense when you think about it, that’s where all the fruits and nuts are..

Some of us out here are working our asses off to pay taxes and pay for the losers, sometimes we don't have time to eat.
The reason I ask is where I work, there are 12 female employees, 2 white and 10 black all the black women are 200+lbs, the white ones slim.
LOL. Californians are being taxed so much that they are starving to death.
Walk through a few Latino markets and you might question this finding.
The “study” is bogus. Just look at the methodolgy, and you will understand why CA comes out as it does.
Califorian liberals are skinny because they run like hell when a patriot confronts these scum.
When I lived in coastal mountain backcountry, I can’t tell you how many California yuppies and hippies freaked out when they saw me with a Buntline on my hip and a 12 gauge pump resting on my shoulder.
