Ad saturation is a problem, sure, but for fans of the medium lack of local talk and programming is a bigger problem.

These days many stations are pushing "I Heart Radio" for computer & phone listening but I find it won't stay connected over wifi on a high speed cable connection. I don't know imagine it could be any better over a cell connection.

There will still be a market for AM radio among motorists until someone comes up with a car radio that can pick up Internet broadcasts.

Here in SLC it's not uncommon to hear some of the same DJs on several FM and AM channels during various parts of the week. At times it feels like there are maybe two dozen people running 30+ channels. Also, it seems that many FM channels can't seem to figure out who their audience exactly is and continually change formats in an effort to see if something sticks. I think the end is coming sooner than everyone thinks for this type of media.

Two of my favorites say that consultants advise the industry to tone down the Obama and other political talk.. people don't want to hear it.

Well, that proves one thing.. the consultants are DNC moles.
