“Do you think it’s possible that Newt be the WH Spokesman?”

Yes. Kills several birds with one stone; gets a potential adversary out of the way, puts someone who can communicate well as the front man, allows some level of plausible deniability as Newt is known for having a big mouth, etc.

From Newt’s perspective it allows him to play the only game in town.

Astute pick.

Add in some electoral fraud, the complicity of the LSM, and an electorate where 50% + pays no income taxes, and it’s gonna be close.

Kudos to willard. If you’d asked me 2 weeks ago I’d have said hussein would win. But he’s doing some of the right things.

Ryan's selection has HUGELY energized the Conservative voter base and even strongly swung "swing voters" in favor of Romney/Ryan. And it may get worse for the Democrats if they decide to support same-sex marriages in the party plank during the Democratic National Convention

You wonder, Ray, if the Dims DON'T make it part of the platform, will there be a gay backlash? What are the ramifications? We'd love to see their tight pants kiss-in thing on national Dem convention tv -- talk about us winning the argument without uttering a word!

I hope his analysis is correct, but this isn't the first time in this election cycle that I've seen analysts proclaiming that Romney's turned the corner, only to find him dip below Obama in the polls a week later.

I am hopeful, but also mindful that this is the same country that giddily and moronically scrambled to the polls to give Obama 52% of the vote in 2008.

If they won't even let him speak at the convention, I doubt they'll let him speak daily as a WH spokesman.

I can see an R & R landslide on November 6th from my window.

And from *my* window I can see 400 EV's for Osama Obama, thanks to complacency like that. This is gonna be a close one in every single one of the states that matter this year...the 10 (or so) "swing states".

I have been anti Romney since day one and have decided to vote for Paul Ryan in November. Am laughing at the NE coast pundits who are trying to explain how this “Aw shucks” down home great guy from the Midwest has suddenly vaulted to the front of the line.
Here in Wisconsin we know that Paul is the real deal and in retrospect, the ONLY choice that could have saved the flailing Romney campaign, IMHO.
Mittens best not get complacent if he wins and figger he’s got Conservatives in his back pocket, giving him free reign to revert to Rino-ism or placate the GOP-E...cuz this Tea Party patriot isn’t planning to go anywhere close to his pressed jeans...until and unless he as a permanent “Come to Reagan” moment.

..."Here's what has changed: the arrival of Rep. Paul Ryan--one of the smartest persons in Washington, DC--as Romney's running mate.".... But wait - didn't Ryan attend a "third-rate" university? How is it possible that he is one of the smartest persons in WDC?

Are you sure? Miami University in Ohio—where Ryan graduated from—is considered by many more prestigious than Ohio State in terms of academics. And it kind of avoids the “elitist” association you get with Ivy League schools.

Today’s Rasmussen has Obama up by 2. On Friday it was Romney +3. I doubt the race changed by 5 points in two days but the conclusion Romney has pulled ahead seems unwarranted.

Gas prices have been going up. I wish this election was going to be decided on something more substantive than that, but it never seems to fail that poll numbers for a sitting president have a direct inverse relationship to gas prices. So I don’t think Romney should take much comfort yet. The prices are likely going to go down after the summer.

A large amount of presidents and just plain regular people commit adultery. Just because someone commits a sin doesn’t make them unqualified to hold a job. We need men and women who believe in capitalism, free markets, the sanctity of marriage and of human life, military superiority, and American exceptionalism leading this country. We don’t particularly need someone who’s never sinned before in their life.

“We don’t particularly need someone who’s never sinned before in their life”

Well yes we do, what you are describing is Jesus and we need him more than ever.

Regarding Newt yes i would choose him over the bamster but that’s it, there are other leaders to choose before him.....such as Sarah or West just to name two.

Newt was involved in the Fannie Freddie scandel, he supported the AWB along w/ Klintoon, we don’t need him today no way no how!
