I’ve been predicting Colin Powell will be Obamugabe’s choice but, now that Huntsman has been announced as being one of the speakers at the DNConvention, he might be in play, too.

He may have thought “Michelle” first but there’s that pesky Constitution...

Does anybody know the LAST possible date that Joe could be DUmped? What if Obama has him on the ticket but then later has to DUmp him because Biden is such a disaster? The problem would be to change the ticket name on the state ballots. I think late September would be the last absolute chance to make the chance because of early voting and absentee ballots. So what is the last chance date for making a change in the ticket?

If Joe gets “sick” I would think they could replace him at any time.

:: Has this been in the works for over a year? ::

I’m beginning to wonder if the exchange was part of the Secretary of State deal 3.5 years ago?

Joe Biden will be in his 70s in a second Obama term. Voters don’t have a problem with replacing someone that old with someone (slightly) younger.

Obama could have won last time even if he had picked a can of tuna fish for a running mate.

Considering the drooling idiots that vote for this jerk, I don’t think it matters one bit who his running mate is. Well, maybe it would help him a wee bit if he did select a can of tuna fish, after all, fish is considered ‘brain food’, so it would be a step up from Biden.

“Biden sent home to Delaware”

Or as Biden would call it: Oregon.

Hillary has a unique iconic status with the party right now because of nostalgia for her husband's presidency, and the Secretary of State is usually (incorrectly) seen as above partisan politics. You might be right if she were still a Senator, but she isn't.

0bama loyalists thus have no leverage over her. The only people who can apply pressure to her are Clintonistas, and I think it's pretty clear from their behavior during the latest election cycle that they despise 0bama and his people, and don't fear him -- and his "pressure" -- in the least.

I’m only 26, so feel free to scold me, but has this ever happened before?

It's happened a number of times including under Jefferson, Madison, Lincoln, and FDR with the most recent example being Angew's resignation of the VP job in 1973 under Nixon.

Then there was the Eagleton controversy back in 1972 when Democrat presidential nominee George McGovern replaced his VP nominee, Sen Tom Eagleton, midway through the campaign when Eagleton's history of psychiatric problems came to light.
