Give ’Em Hell, Mitt!
National Review Online ^ | 8/17/12 | Rich Lowry

On Medicare, the Romney campaign is borrowing the strategic logic of a long-ago military legend.

Taking command of the French ninth army in 1914 as it retreated before the Germans, Marshal Ferdinand Foch uttered his immortal words: “Hard pressed on my right. My center is yielding. Impossible to maneuver. Situation excellent. I attack.”

Because, like Obama, he is the CHOSEN ONE.

Dunno about that, but he will be chosen in November. The entire course of this campaign changed last Saturday - this was the best week for the GOP since the 2010 elections.

You've got a long four years ahead of you.

Romney’s passion died when he started trying to pretend that he is a republican.

Mitt's passion is getting elected, and that has never wavered.

My passion is getting Obama defeated.

Our interests coincide for the present.

You think that the man that gave us Romney/Obama care as the greatest accomplishment of his failed Governorship, is the man who is passionate to end it, I don’t think so.

Do you even know what Romney’s relationship has been with the republican and democrat parties? How Romney left the GOP because Reagan was nominated, and how Mitt became a supporter of and a fund raiser for democrats?

No one can disagree that the most sincere, the most passionate videos of Mitt Romney, are when he speaks from the heart on the importance of abortion rights and how his family personally knows the tragedy of not being able to abort children.

The most passionate that we see Mitt in print, is his personal letter on the importance of advancing the homosexual agenda, and homosexualizing the military, he felt that Ted Kennedy was not committed enough to the homosexual goals of the left, and that Clinton had been far too timid in equalizing homosexuality in the military.

Be honest about Mr. RomneyCARE.

Mr. RomneyCARE taxed Massachusetts to HeLL
AND left it in the tank.

Mr. RomneyCARE was chosen by Mr. Soros and the DNC because he supports Obama. HE WILL DO NOTHING.

Romney isn’t a fool, he can do the math. He can either whirl the wheel hard astarboard, or he can watch the economy continue on the Obama track. And, politically, destroy the Republican Party in his first term, because the Tea Party will bolt.

And after the drubbing of 2010 is repeated this year, the Democrat brand will also be in tatters, and Mitt will have a stark choice - sign the repeal of ObamaCare, or snatch a 2016 defeat from the jaws of certain victory.

In 2000, GWB famously asserted that he did not have the phone number of Dick Durban - he of the huge tax increase negotiation with the Democrats during the HGWB Administration. That was his way of pledging no tax increases - a pledge which he, unlike his one-and-done father, kept. In 2012 Romney named Paul Ryan to be his running mate. That choice has the same effect of pledging a conservative administration - and putting himself on the road to victory.

Hey, from the start of 2010 until the issue was decided my position was that Palin was the logical conservative choice, and that Romney was the worst choice among the candidates the the nomination. But he’s got the nomination sewed up, and we either jump to an alternate universe, or we move on in this one. And I don’t know about you, but my warp drive is on the Fritz.

Ferdinand Foch: “A battle won is a battle which we will not acknowledge to be lost.”

One sentence that nicely summarizes the conservative opposition to Romney. Thanks.
