Utterly maddening. False assumptions leading to false (and invalid) conclusions. Juan Williams tonight attempted to set one of the Seals back on his heels (sorry) by comparing the Seal group to the Swiftees. Meaning, of course, “the discredited, dishonorable” Swiftboat Veterans for Truth. Already wrong-headed. But worse, I think, is assuming that a link to a politcal party is an automatic deal-killer. Isn’t it the job of “journalists” to investigate the truth of what’s being said or claimed before it starts discounting what’s said or claimed? No. It appears that certain attachments (with Christianity, Catholicism, the GOP, the Tea Party, aye, the Swiftees) are all these journalist need to discover “truth.” Why don’t we all get jobs that easy? No need for investigation or research or a 3-degree background. Just find out who likes or supports a point of view, and you’ve done all your homework. You know what you’ll report. This is the scientific age? an age of reason? the culmination of milennia of learning?
FOX, you’re worse than the main stream. You’ve risen to heady ratings under the guise of fairness, and THIS is all you have to throw at patriots? Disgusting.
Juan Williams was okay when he was first hired by Fox News after he was fired by PBS. Now I can’t stand him and mute him when he is on. He has a program on FNC this weekend about schools or education.
