But this is Austin, not Houston. I35 is a straight shot down the middle of town. East is east and west is west.

You don't want to be in east Austin after dark. If you do have to travel on streets east of IH 35 at night, lock your doors. The saying that nothing good happens after midnight takes on a different meaning in east Austin.

Not to worry - I don’t even like to be anywhere in Austin even at High Noon.

What is it with the east parts of cities? We were in East St. Louis many years ago and even back then it was not good.
