I’m not surprised, it would have been impossible and just plain weird for you, as the leader and owner of freerepublic, to stand in 100% total opposition to the republican ticket running against Barack Obama and Joe Biden, and the Ryan choice really brought that home.

I never thought that Governor Palin would not support the 2012 ticket, I thought for a while that you might not, but in recent weeks it started soaking in to me, that that would be impossible, that by the next month or two, FR would be a train wreck.

Leadership is a lot harder place to be than for us foot soldiers, and forces compromises and sacrifices that the rest of us don’t have to consider, or make. I hope that you continue to be OK with the resistance to the TOTAL rewrite of who Romney is and has always been, and to us continuing to resist his supporters rewrite of who Reagan was, as they corrupt Reagan to fit Romney’s past.

I won’t be voting for Romney, but I can understand regular republicans doing so, and as I said, I was starting to see that you were probably going to have to make the decision that you did, I bet that wasn’t fun for you.

I’m not a regular Republican: I’m a conservative. But I am also a patriot, someone who puts the survival of my country before my personal interests, including my “principals”. I figure our country has almost no chance of surviving four more years of Obama. On the other hand, we’ll probably survive Romney, particularly if we win Congress. It’s really a pretty simple decision.
