Yep, that’s the man. From time to time I inquire of people as to who Willis Carrier) was? And you know, almost no one knows. I suppose they think that a/c just magically appeared in American life.

If India had kept their coal fired electric generation plants, they wouldn’t have had hundreds of thousands of people without power.

Fact 1: Nearly all of the world’s booming cities are in the tropics and will be home to an estimated one billion new consumers by 2025.

Thus creating a huge market for our coal industry and a very positive impact on our trade balance, while improving the standard of living of one billion people.

Probably the worst thing about running your air conditioner is that there is probably a NWS temperature station next to it.

If her hair was white, she would look like Ben Franklin.

[Fact 3: Scientific studies increasingly show that health and productivity rise significantly if indoor temperature is cooled in hot weather. So cooling is not just about comfort.]

I worked in two different medium security prisons in two different jurisdictions during the 1990’s. At both facilities the temperature was kept constantly in the low 60’s. I was told this had a positive effect on inmate temperament and slowed the spread of germs and viruses.

Reading this brings to mind the thousands of Europeans who died during that heat wave a few years back. Do you remember?
Much of Europe don’t have air conditioning. Thousands died.
So far I haven’t seen the death count caused by global warming, just yada yada yada and “our planet is doomed.”

When you criminalize Air Conditioners, only Criminals will have Air Conditioners.

Does she care about all the trees that are slaughtered to make her employer’s newspaper, which in turn is read by nobody?

Yeah.. All government buildings can go first. Get rid of the tax-payer funded A/C from all government buildings.
THEN we’ll see if the rest of the people wish to follow suit by making their own free choice.
How’s that work for you, Rosenthal?

Oh, and get rid of the A/C at the NY Times Building, too.

“Suttering blackouts” are the result of political interference in the power system engineering.

And how many people living in New York City, Chicago and other “northern” cities is she willing to have die during summer heat waves once the airconditioning she railes against is turned off?

All of them.

Her type will always have a rationale for why the rules they make don't apply to them.
