Steinem, women's groups denounce [Democratic] convention arrangements for moms

A number of local chapters of the National Organization for Women are denouncing the DNC convention rules, saying that they unfairly exclude mothers with young children.

"Women are the key to a Democratic victory, and sometimes, children are the key to women. It's both right and smart for the Democratic Convention to behave as if children exist," activist Gloria Steinem said in a release.

The group of southern California chapters of NOW are pointing to the lack of childcare at the conventions, as well as the difficulty female delegates have in bringing children to the convention floor. According to the activists, the DNC is requiring young children to have credentials to come onto the convention floor with their parents.

"Moms with young children 6 years of age and under who cannot be left at home, some of whom are breastfeeding, are relegated to second-class status within the Democratic Convention, unable to participate as a delegate due to antiquated policies and inadequate accommodations that were apparently in place before Women’s suffrage," Susie Shannon, a delegate to the 2012 DNC Convention.

"The DNC requires children and babies to have a credential to enter the Convention, and then denies these credential requests from moms. The DNC credentialing process is being used as a tool to prevent mothers from participating at the Convention and is nothing short of discriminatory," said Lindsey Horvath, president of the Hollywood NOW.

“Wow! When did Gloria Steinem, who never married (lesbian?) and never had any children, become and expert on motherhood?”

If memory serves...it doesn't always...in her mid-sixties she caused consternation in her circle when she married some soul-mate character who also liked to tell other people how to live. He may have had some terminal illness, but I don't think they knew it when they married.

"Caring for the Children" while actually doing nothing for them is normal for Lefties. In 1996, I attended the Mississippi Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. That year, they were HUGELY supporting Bill Clinton and were quoting Hillary a lot, especially about "the children". I had a toddler and a baby at the time, and I asked one pastor if the Conference had a nursery where they could keep them...they didn't.

I think it would be great if the Democrat convention committee set up a nursery and kid cage right in front of the stage so that the little brats could scream, wet their pants and diapers, and refuse to mind anyone due to their little liberal independent thinking and total loss of respect for rules.

After all....they have rights!

That's really funny ... the demonicRat party is dedicated to the propositions that children should not exist, and that if they do come into existence they should be killed.

The demonicRat party is among the most anti-child organization in America today.

"don't have kids"

A lot of average Dems have kids. It's just there's a lot of bitter, old feminist hags who had no kids and are looking at a very lonely future. I'm sure a lot of the feminists from the sixties and seventies were treated like little queens by their parents and many of them were single children. That means with no children of their own and no siblings, there will be no one to look in on them in their old age. No one to visit them when they're in the old home for nasty, leftist harridans. Except other nasty, bitter harpies. These people built their own miserable futures.

"Christian Bale in the news lately, I read his father David was married to Gloria (2,000 - 2,003). She was his third wife, his second wife was Christian’s mother.

Don’t you think it was a suffering for Christian?"

Not long ago, I read about an incident in which Bale, his father, and Steinem were seated around the dinner table. Steinem was being her gasbag self, droning on and on about feminist crap, and Bale, who had reached his limit, yelled out, "For God's sake, woman, shut up! Just shut up!"

LOL

Yes, only married three years, they didn’t know. Christian’s father died of brain cancer.

How appropriate, “gasbag” fits. I bet Christian did say
shut - up! My heart goes out to him. I am stuck in the past, I don’t care for the Batman series but I loved him in
Little Women and his very first film, heart wrenching Empire
of the Sun.
