Some number of the 217K that voted for Akin in the Primary were Democrats. The vast majority of course were conservative Republicans. No way they will ever vote for Ma. They may, unfortunately not vote for the Republican nominee. But most will come to the final realization, they MUST get Ma the hell out of Washington!

Re the Democrats voting for him: How do you know that? This is all conspiracy nonsense. The Democrats had their own primary races, some of them high profile. If you force out Akin and a small group of GOP establishment pols decide who the nominee will be nullifying the primary results, there will be a reaction and it won't help the GOP.

Talk (privately) to a BBT driver and see what he says. One from rural MO of course.

Initially many denied Ma spent so much on "pro-Akin" ads. Akin's former campaign mgr. (Van Eaton) is a $ donor to Ma's campaign.

This is Missouri. The home of never-closing polling places. In Dem areas. The home of beer purchasing for those who register and vote Dem (Jo Ann Emerson's Dist.) The home of dead Teamster Presidents. The home of a hospital for dying union leaders. List goes on and on.

The big shots in Republican Party have just now called on Akin to step down. Not saying its right. Just saying it is.

I'm not dusting off my STEELMAN signs. Yet....
