Mike Huckabee is also responsible for this fiasco. He endorsed Akin before the primary and has given him airtime on his radio program.

One word from him and Akin would have withdrawn.

Now the best we can hope for is that Akin shuts up about this and does not give more ammo to the Rats. But given his selfishness and ability to insert florsheims to mouth, I am not optimistic.

Far from shutting up, he's bought ad time for the next 5 days and will continue to apologize.

I’m leery of anybody that Tax Hike Mike endorses. Huckaphony isn’t a conservative. He just plays one on TV.

Yeah that’s one thing I’m afraid of; even if Akin could recover from this inexplicably stupid comment, who is to say that he won’t say other stupid, self-destructive things before the election.

The guy just doesn’t seem very bright. Neither is McCaskill of course, but at least she’s figured out how to hand her opponent the rope with which to hang himself.
