North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is planning to travel to Tehran next week, in his first overseas visit since taking over after his father's death in December, South Koreas Yonhap and Arirang news services reported on Wednesday.
Irans spokesman for the Non-Aligned Movement Summit confirmed that Kim would attend a meeting of the 120-member Non-Aligned Movement scheduled for Aug. 26-31, according to Seoul-based Arirang.

P!
Oho, there should be some interesting quotes come
out of that meeting.
How about...........Two birds with one stone.....
( Just a thought outside the box.....)
My thoughts exactly.
Great thought. Israel can get bonus points for this one.
He just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Takes “putting oneself in harms way” to a new level.
Perhaps by the inviting the North Korean leader the Iranian government thinks that it would inhibit Israel from taking that preemptive strike.
Excellent intel. Excellent! Outstanding! He will be “out of the bubble” briefly. This is even better than a trip (opportunity) in China. There could be a coup while he is away though. We will have to watch Pyongyang Patty I guess, and DPRK troop movements.
A “General Yamamoto” moment would have an interesting impact on the situation.
Perhaps these two are working on a final solution of their own making?
It was “Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto”. But, yes, it was also the first name which popped into my head.
Especially if they can pull it off while the plane is over western China, where there’s nobody and nothing.
Or better yet, over one of the “-istan” countries he’s going to have to fly over. Then nobody’d know who was really responsible, because everyone in the area would be busy pointing their fingers at everyone else.
It seems that they wanted to make a photo op to show that the new leader is a 'man of the people'
or some such, but in fact, the people are dreadfully terrified of even being in a photograph with him.
This was found on a page of 'funny' images, but really, it's horrible.
GREAT catch TLR! Bettwen you and AiT, FReepers will never be caught by surprise by events in the Far East, thanks for all you guys do (and other FReepers in your region)!
IF Kim Jung Un is indeed nothing but a puppet for the military and the older heads of that regime, he is no doubt aware that his life could end unexpectedly and violently on the whim of anyone with sufficient political power. So if he is a puppet, he’s going to do as he’s told. If not, this trip to Iran suggests that he feels secure enough domestically to make such a trip, without fear that some sort of coup attempt will NOT take place in his absence.
I don’t however see a strong possibility of the Mossad taking out Kim Jung Un unless it would be for the embarrassment aspect to the mullahs and THEIR sockpuppet Ahmadinnerjacket. I would rate that pretty low on the odds, because they (the Mossad) would probably want to save their resources and assets for much more valuable targets.
How the hell are they going to get an armored train from Korean to Iran?
That’s right. It was Admiral Yamamoto. P38’s sent him to a watery grave. With the tecnology they have these days it should be a snap to track this guy’s flight path. One can only wish.
