Todd Akin is Claire McCaskill's favorite Republican. He is both delusional and selfish. He is the problem with the political class who will try to cling to power no matter what the cost. Even if he does win - he is toxic - period.

This is a prime example of campaign workers needing jobs and, IMO, a wife who wants to be the wife of a Senator.

He’s listening to those closest to him who have everything to lose if he drops out.

He didn’t know that the PPP poll was so wildly slanted...+9 Republican...until Hannity told him on the radio.

If you look at CAC’s reflections...and MATH...on our chances of taking the Senate, we are still in good shape, even if Ma Claire wins.

O/T but this is an “I told you so” moment for Sarah, and she declined to rub it in their faces. Classy lady!

I hope we can still take the Senate Akin is a selfish SOB who is totally divorced from reality. His lack of judgement shows he is unfit for office and that is saying something with the group currently occupying our political class.

But they won’t.

That must be the first time in three election ccycles you have a PPP poll so heavily slanted in favour of the GOP candidate - I wonder why? /s

He’s got the people around him, who depend on their pay checks, telling him he can win this.

He’s turned off his phones and email, so he might be rather insulated as to the negative response to his decision to stay in.

I agree...he is unfit for political office because he can’t articulate as well as he should.

That was the most stupid statement I’ve ever seen in my life.

How many times have you seen a Republican candidate to be so favored by the left that the dems vote for him?

Rush’s Operation Chaos in reverse.

That’s how he won the primary.

Those comments were completely off the wall. This is such a close election year with so much at stake - we need our best in the arena and this doddering fool is not up to it. He frankly disgusts me. Akin hurts our cause in numerous ways.

I think she did rub their faces in it on Greta when she 'endorsed' a third party run by Steelman.

Things are really tight, but she's the only candidate I'll give money to this fall. She's not even in my state but what Akin did (or rather refused to do) is over the top.

I’m not inclined to call him a doddering old fool.

Frankly, I think he’s been cut off from reality. Someone shut down his phones and email.

There are forces at work that we don’t know about because most people would have dropped out by now.

I disagree. She didn’t rub their faces in it.

That was clearly a shot across the Republican’s bow.

Target hit! ;o)

I guess his absolute selfishness in the face of what could have been an easy Republican pick up has really ticked me off. There is so much on the line in this election - he is a liability the Republicans do not need.

I hear ya’, bro’.

I still think we will be okay, and pick up the Senate. I don’t think this will hurt Romney/Ryan.

Though, I will admit that the thought of Obama’s favorite Senator being back for another six years is nauseating.

Looking around FR, which has it's share of conservatives, there's about a dozen or so defending him and wanting him to fight on.

I think we can extrapolate and say the "voters" urging Akin to "stay strong" are Democrats.

I do - supporting Akin may end up costing the lives of tens of thousands of unborn babies if obamacasre doesn't end up getting repealed. You may end up with blood on your hands because you are too hard headed to deal with the political reality of the situation.

On the other hand, the attentions span of the media and average voters can be measured in days, not weeks or months. This will pass out of sight as soon as another “crisis” comes along.

Ah yes, the politically stigmatized — the Palin effect.

The man’s odd presentation triggered hysteria despite his committed defense of Life. I gather his intent is irrelevant. If only he was endowed with the requisite savoir-faire that would comfort the stalwart conservative base.

Blood on my hands? Go pound sand.
