"Move it to another place and hold it after the democrat convention."

May be necessary. If so, our idiots will not tun it to our advantage.

And with an electronic convention, you could make the appear that your’s is the only “Green” convention because you saved all that travel and gasoline.

Plus you’d save all the convention hotel and travel expenses, offset in part by the electronics. But the savings could be put into more marketing.

Honestly the people that most want it to be a physical “event” are the press.

Actually, that would be well within the proper authority of a mayor.

Mayor of Tampa is a lib that would like nothing better than to cancel the convention tho

Why? He doesn't want publicity, prestige, business, and tax revenues for his city? He wants his city to be seen as a no-go area? He wants the local movers and shakers to be angry and disappointed at years of work down the drain? He wants his city to be slammed by high winds and destructive flooding? He gets some swell benefit from seeing the GOP plans messed up? Or some other idiotic theory?

Yes but does Andrea raise or lower Alan's interest rates? She's a 'beauty' compared to old, crusty Greenie.

I think NO convention might be better than what is going to a very BORING VANILLA ELITIST SNOBFEST with the possibility of more idiots like Akin making news with self inflicted wounds.

Best case scenario. A Democrat Mayor cancels the convention for a hurricane and there is NO hurricane.

Republicans can play the victim card, and the Democrats go on and hold their convention and it is a boring snoozefest.

It won’t hit FL, if it does, until Sat or Sun. Then it will probably die down over land before it’s gets to Tampa in the west.

I guess the Mayor, a week out, would rather local business LOSE thousands and thousands of dollars of business.

Issac isn’t even hurricane status yet.

Local WFTV in Orlando (Tom Terry) is saying if the storm gets bigger, it has a better chance of going north along the W. coast of Fla. and causing tornadoes, heavy rain and high wind all over the state. If it weakens, there is a chance of it moving away from Fla. per one model and not having such an impact on the state.

Very unpredictable stuff. Our local weather people can't get the temperature right from one day to the next!

The Dems are requesting the RNC make Joe Biden a keynote speaker, move the venue to a leaky garbage scow anchored in the middle of the bay, and then tell everyone else the thing's been postponed.

He'll wait until all the checks clear - so his city can collect the revenue, then he'll cancel it - when all the delagates' vacation windows have lapsed and they have to go home.

He's a democrat, right.

“Move it to Jacksonville. We’re a conservative and military town! And hurricanes almost never hit us.”

Sounds like a good plan to me! But I really think the storm might get weakened and end up going up the east coast of FL. And if it does enter the Gulf, most likely head towards the Panhandle. Seems the Panhandle area, MS and LA get the brunt of most storms. We actually luck out most of the time here in Pinellas and Hillsborough.

And we all know the Liberal media wants it to be a CAT 9 if there were such a storm!!!

Here is the latest update from Tom Terry, WFTV in Orlando. The storm track is moved slightly west by a hair away from Fla.. Sunday night (approx 8pm) S. Fla. will begin to feel rain bands. Monday shows the storm at about 80 mph near Tampa “less than about 175 miles from Orlando.” Monday will be the worst day. Squally and tornado threats. The west coast will get the worst of it. Tuesday: Wet/Squally north... Still Breezy back behind it.

Thanks for the update. Been unable to watch TV as house sitting and sister in law had her cable knocked out from the storm we had yesterday. My cable in South Pinellas was fine. Same cable company. Thinking there might be something else wrong and cable guy coming tomorrow to check.

I do hope the storm weakens and hoping for the best.
