I’ve always wondered why. The range especially has a lot of socially conservative people who are hunters, outdoorsmen and who love their guns. Why they vote like automatons is a mystery to me.

The Iron range miners are sort of like the West Virginia coal miners. They are the white, middle class men who are gradually moving over to the GOP, or at least against the radical left. In 2010, they were so very upset with their US Representative, that they voted him out of office - Jim Oberstar!!! It was a collossal victory when Chip Cravaak won that election.

Lots of Democrats are not so radical as the party elites. I am wondering if we will begin to see a more rapid abandonment of the Democrat party as they move closer to outright Communism and ridicule of all traditional values.

By-the-way, Freepers should know that outside of the Twin Cities inner cities, and the NE corner of Duluth and the labor unions, Minnesota is a lot like every other state in the country. It goes GOP for the most part. That is why I can sympathize with up-state New Yorkers. Trying to swim up river gets very tiring.
