That was one of the most terrible parts, he basically engaged at friendly fire at any woman who claimed to have been raped and carried the pregnancy to full term.

There's all sorts of amazing pro-life women that amidst unspeakable tragedy, found the strength to carry on, to value their child's life and this idiot basically spat on them by essentially calling them liars since they "couldn't" have actually gotten pregnant through rape.

Oh, shut up. You're making BS up out of whole cloth now. He said NOTHING of the kind and what you're saying isn't even in the SPIRIT of what he said. He specifically said that a baby who results from a rape should NOT be punished with death. What part of his conclusion don't you understand? He was IMPLYING actual praise for the women that you describe. He said women under that circumstance were rare, but NOT that they don't exist. And rare in a country of 300 million could mean millions of people.

Actually he did, you can keep denying it until you are completely red in the face, won't make your point anymore accurate. Anyone who took what he said at face value thought the same thing.

Maybe it's not what he meant, but it's exactly how it came out, that women that become pregnant after being victims of rape, are somehow "frauding" and not being honest because after all, if a woman is REALLY "rape raped" her "body has a way to shut that whole thing down" so pregnancy wouldn't be an issue, right?

Wow. Don't think I've seen a more dishonest post on FR in 14 years. Looking at the posting history (all 2 months of it) there are lots and lots of name calling and "I'm smarter than you". Hopefully he won't be around too much longer.

Thank God you’re rebutting some of the ridiculous crap this guy spews...I don’t even read his posts. He’s a self appointed expert in all things reproductive and makes a fool of himself with his stance.

We seem to be seeing the true colors of many on FR since this issue came out. Many are using a misstatement by a true conservative as their own platform to push abortion and invoke Reagan’s erroneous positions on picking and choosing who gets to survive their birth.

Pretty discouraging if you ask me.
