If you knew the real Newt Gingrich as well as you should, you wouldn't be saying that.

I stayed away from Santorum knowing that he had previously endorsed Romney claiming that Mittens was "a real conservative".

Santorum's endorsement was a political calculation for the team just like Herman Cain's is now.

I never even thought of voting for Santorum because most knew he was only in it to split the conservative vote to enable Romney to win the nomination.
