My point was that Newt did more to divide the conservative vote against Romney than did Santorum.
Newt entered every primary debate telling the viewers that everyone up there on the stage would be better than Obama and he would support whoever won the nomination. He was more or less cheerleading each candidate's strengths.
Santorum, on the other hand, took shots at whichever conservative candidate was ahead and facing Romney. And the attacks he did make against Romney were that he is actually worse than President Obama and we cannot afford Romney as our nominee.
Santorum's attacks against Romney (the few that he made against the man) were attacks that would make him look hypocritical for ONE having endorsed the man previously and TWO endorsing the man again after saying those things.
I really don't see how you can say Mitt Romney is uniquely UNQUALIFIED to run against Obama and then endorse the man once all his conservative opponents have left the stage. No credibility. I saw that lack of credibility before the primary. Unfortunately others still do not see it. Newt's primary message was replacing Obama with either of these primary candidates.
Santorum's message was "conservatism"
And once again, Santorum endorses Mitt Romney.
It was all a plan.
