Anthony Weiner had a stellar liberal record too. Dems wanted no part of him. He was not only forced out, he cost Dems a seat in a far left district.
Voting records and being right on issues are meaningless after you turn yourself into a punchline.

If he waits too long, the courts become more problemmatic.
My sense is that the GOP is strong enough in Missouri to force a court to let him off the ballot — but not at the last minute.
He needs to go, now.
I can’t stand these selfish people who think they are on some mission from God. God doesn’t give a damn who the senator is from Missouri. It is up to us.

IIRC, Weiner sexted his genitals to someone other than his wife. I don't see a parallel between that and a verbal misstep being blown out of proportion. Voting records are never meaningless. They are our *only* measure of how well a representative does his job of representing us. And, Akin has done so quite well.
