From the picture, the 5 year old looks harmless enough.

Wouldn't it be nice if all K-12 schools everywhere would prohibit any t-shirts that have ANY thing printed on them . . . nothing . . . no pictures, words, or nuttin'? Then they'd have no problems.

I remember back in school days when we couldn't have any t-shirts at all with anything on them.

Fortunately for Oklahoma schools, no gang, except for maybe a LGBT Gang, would wear Oklahoma Sooner T-shirts.

Unfortunately, there will always be stupid parents.

Rules agaist clothing with printing at all (which is what we had in the schools I went to in the sixties and seventies)is probably the second best solution, after uniforms.

Uniforms. It eliminates the peer pressure of kids who can afford expensive clothes vs. those who can’t, and if the codes are enforced, prevents “gang “ symbology as well.

Unless things have changed since the 80s, OKC public schools have a dress code —> no graphics on the tees

Personally I am in favor of uniforms.

Kids don’t have to worry about what they are going to wear to school. Parents don’t have to shuck out hundreds of dollars for stylish cloths to keep their kids from being beaten down by the peer pressure.

Oh, this is just silly. Why in the world should it matter if a 5 year old wears a shirt with a logo from a team in another state? What a ridiculous restriction.

Not in my opinion. When I was a young student, we could wear t-shirts with alcohol & tobacco advertising, heavy metal bands, political messages, religious messages, etc.

Somehow, our impressionable young minds survived the onslaught of free speech.

I could understand the logo of another Big 12 team but Big 10?

BTW, Go Blue.

The faculty has a responsibility to keep the school safe and to maintain the best atmosphere for learning. A proper dress code is part of that responsibility.

How about obama shirts? Are they allowed to show that gang affiliation?

I guess dress codes are okay. I just hate how the existence of trashy gangs always ends up effecting the rules for everyone else.

“Several parents told Fox 25 they think the rule is ridiculous, saying it’s especially harsh at the kindergarten level due to the likelihood of gang activity at that age.”

Until some gang banger does a drive by of their kid for wearing the wrong color. Banning t-shirts is what they do instead of cracking down on gangs and gang members’ parents.

Why yes they are. That gang had been endorsed by the DOJ to run guns to the Sinola Cartel.

If the “Sons of Anarchy” were real, the US DOJ would put them out of business.

We’ve allowed a group of idiots to set the bar for the rest of us. Time to kick their butts and stop this nonsense.

Also, just go back to school uniforms. Kids can wear what they want after school and at home. And they learn that only adults get the privilege of wearing what they want when they want.
