Store owner convicted in $612,000 food stamp fraud (Foodstamps-For-Cash)

FLINT, Mich. (AP) - A federal jury has reached a guilty verdict against a Flint store owner accused of participating in a $612,000 food stamp fraud scheme.

U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade says 55-year-old Noha Fofana was convicted of conspiracy to commit food stamp fraud.

Fofana owns Mandingo African market. McQuade says he redeemed $750,000 in food stamp benefits from February 2009 to July 2011, and $612,000 came from "food stamps-for-cash" exchanges.

We have got to figure out a way to get moonbats on our side in the food fraud stamp program. How much money could have gone to parks, after-school programs, teacher-enrichment, raises for firefighters if it wasn’t hung up in this huge nationwide FRAUD program that is never investigated!

One thing you have to understand about leftist/sheeperal support for government programs is the subtle difference between wanting to do good and wanting to feel good about oneself for wanting to do good.

Your post assumes the former, that their primary motivation is to do good.
I (and Thomas Sowell) assert that the primary motivation is the latter - to feel good about oneself for wanting to do good.

If you point out how their advocacy is actually harmful, they’ll take it as a personal attack. They haven’t, don’t want to, and will vehemently resist any analysis that leads to the conclusion that their advocacy didn’t do good.
