HOBBS, N.M. (AP) — Seeking to reset his economic message, Republican Mitt Romney pledged Thursday to create 3 million jobs and more than $1 trillion in revenue by ramping up offshore oil drilling and giving states more control over energy production on federal land.

Romney, reviving a long-elusive goal pushed by presidents and presidential candidates for decades, said his plans would make the U.S., along with Canada and Mexico, energy independent by 2020.

"This is not some pie in the sky kind of thing," Romney told voters in Hobbs, the heart of New Mexico's oil and gas industry. "This is a real achievable objective."(continued)

Yep, this is a debate the GOP really wants to have with the Dems.

Now lets start talking about all the corruption in the Dems "renewable energy" programs. All the tax payer funded handouts to now bankrupt companies run by big 2008 Obama campaign donors.

The widespread independent voter perception of Democrats as both incompetence and corrupt will kill them on election day the same way it killed the GOP in 1974 and 2006

This is a great campaign angle. Democrats can say nothing in answer.

More oil drilling? Pipelines? no one will believe it

More green energy schemes? Ha ha ha - the Obama campaign fears the word “Solyndra”

This issue is a WINNER.

They need to have this argument, but not only point out the failures of 0bama’s “green energy” programs,

but have the secondary argument by talk radio folks about how the fraud and corruption were the primary goal of these programs in the first place.

Its a hell of a lot more than 3 million jobs!

He can do this through executive order and congress can lower the corp tax rate. Link those two together and we could see over 16 million jobs explode across this country.

Hell look at France..how many plants do they think will get the hell out of that country to escape that government.

The Romney Plan
For A Stronger Middle Class:
ENERGY INDEPENDENCE
http://www.mittromney.com/sites/default/files/shared/energy_policy_white_paper_8.23.pdf
August 23, 2012

A crucial component of Mitt Romney’s Plan for a Stronger Middle Class is to dramatically increase domestic energy production and partner closely with Canada and Mexico to achieve North American energy independence by 2020. While President Obama has described his own energy policy as a “hodgepodge,” sent billions of taxpayer dollars to green energy projects run by political cronies, rejected the Keystone XL Pipeline as not in “the national interest,” and sought repeatedly to stall development of America’s domestic resources, Romney’s path forward would establish America as an energy superpower in the 21st century.

I was never big on Mitt, but I have to hand it to the guy, he’s staying right on target.

Romney is right.

My state has 7,300 active oil wells and 35,000 oil wells yet to be drilled.

Which means that crude oil production will continue to increase exponentially over the next decade.

“This is a great campaign angle. Democrats can say nothing in answer.”

The only answer I heard from an NPR analyst today was that, “Romney wants to drive America and the world into full-blown climate change disaster.” Paraphrased, but pretty much this is the only repeated answer I have heard from the left regarding energy independence, which ultimately begs the question as to how much they really want it.

Even with environmental consideration, we will continue to consume oil as long as electric cars remain fairly expensive for the individual owner to purchase, and also for so long as plenty of alternative energy sources remain up in cost, I am hopeful that they will eventually remain cheaper, but a great deal of effective management relies on recognizing both current and realistic, and not just promised conditions.

We could increase welfare benefits and cut the budget by reducing the bureaucracy by merging dozens of welfare programs into one monthly cash dole. Do you Romney would try this? It’d drive the Dems nuts.

An average Boy Scout could come up with a better energy plan than the present occupier of the White House.

I spent some time in the last month with some liberals NPR types and I am astounded how their world view is so different, i.e. America is bad, all the bad things we did, atoning for faults, beat my breast, beat my breast, beat my breast. I was so sick of it.

Again here, they are dupes for the Commies since the Green is the old Red with a Watermelon Skin on it.

If they can truncate our energy production we can't be number one and they hate the thought of a Pax-Americana and that we are actually good.

BTW I scanned this Energy Policy, Kudo's to Team Romney again, another outfield double that the fielders can't seem to get their hands on....

The 2012 Presidential election was too close to call. Neither Mitt Romney nor Obama had enough votes to win. There was much talk about ballot recounting, court challenges, etc., but a week-long ice fishing competition seemed the sportsmanlike way to settle things.

It was decided that there should be an ice fishing contest between the two candidates to determine the winner. The candidate that caught the most fish at the end of the week would win the election.

After much of back and forth discussion, it was decided that the contest would take place on a remote frozen lake in northern Wisconsin.

There were to be no observers present, and both men were to be sent out separately on this isolated lake and return at 5 P.M. with their catch for counting and verification by a team of neutral parties.

At the end of the first day, Mitt Romney returned to the starting line, and he had 10 fish.

Soon, Obama returned and had no fish. Well, everyone assumed he was just having a bad day or something and hopefully, he would catch up the next day.

At the end of the 2nd day Mitt came in with 20 fish, and Obama came in again with none.

That evening the Democrats got together secretly with Obama and said, “We think that Mitt Romney is a low-life, cheatin’ son-of-a-gun. Tomorrow don’t bother fishing. Just spy on him, and see just how he is cheating.’

The next night (after Mitt returns with 50 fish), the Democrats got together for the report of how the Republicans were cheating.

Obama said, “You are not going to believe this ... he’s cutting holes in the ice.”
