During Tuesday's meeting, the committee voted unanimously to disinvite Akin and released this statement:

"This request is a result of the comments made by the Congressman regarding sexual assault and the distraction that the current situation surrounding the Congressman would cause. As a committee, we follow the lead of Senator Roy Blunt, former Senators Danforth, Bond, and Ashcroft in calling for Congressman Akin to step aside for the good of the very ideals that he is attempting to champion."

Lost his home boys, this can't last much longer. Next he'll be locked out of his house.

I keep wondering what happens when this turns around. If Akin wins, there will be a 97.25 rated Conservative in the Senate, upset at the establishment, not beholden to his Party, and likely grateful for the people of his state who have not jumped on his back. I hope to see it.

The Butler County Republicans is a very socially conservative group in Missouri. If anybody is acting like a democrat it is probably the one who accepted the donations from the abortionist democrats the he claims to oppose.

The conservatives will try to take credit for it.

If he loses, the Conservatives will be blamed by the RINOs and GOPe for that defeat. (even though most conservatives wanted him out)

That's politics, unfortunately

Claire handpicked Akin. He is her choice. They paid good money for him to be the candidate. I don't know about you but red flags go up when I find out that my "pro-life" candidate's campaign was funded by pro-abortionists.

It's no coincidence that we now hear that Akin Hurts Pro-Life Cause

Whose side is this man on?

Interesting comment. By the way, the Butler County Republicans are a very socially conservative group.

You imply that only GOPe, RINOs and Romney are the only ones who want this Congressman to step down.

Can you provide me with a list of the non-GOPe, non-RINO, non-Democrat candidates who are standing with Akin?

but Willard wants to keep that abominable unConstitutional “law” as “the law of the land”

he has no intention of helping the pro-lifers to stop the slaughter of the innocents...

The man misspoke. Why is he being crucified? Obama’s gaffs are overlooked and excused. Clinging to their Bibles and guns? Corpsemen?

Akin is not being asked to step down because he’s pro-life, he’s being asked to step down because he’s a total failure at promoting pro-life views.

How does one accepting money from pro-abortion democrats to fund his campaign actually help unborn babies when the result of his own words actually sets back the pro-life movement?

We are not liberals here. Intention is not how we evaluate ones own success. We look at results.

Congressman Akin has hurt the pro-life movement since sunday night. How does hurting and setting back the pro-life movement result in helping and not increasing the deaths of unborn babies?

Perhaps you did not get the memo but one of the reasons why it's necessary that we conservatives win seats and take over the Senate is so that RINOs like Romney would not be able to push forward his liberal agenda. I don't see how Claire winning the US Senate seat helps us move our Conservative agenda forward but winning is exactly what she's going to do according to the latest polling data.

It should be no surprise. That's why she spent so much money to choose her opponent "Akin".
