But when you clear away all the opinion, the controversy and the garbage—what’s really threatening our country is corruption, which comes from deceptiveness, which evolves from the habit of side-stepping the truth which in turn comes from rejecting love of the truth.
Yes, I agree! Some excerpts follow. The whole article is a good read.
The left has mastered the technique of changing the subject...

They know that by “legitimate rape” he was describing the whole set of actual sex crimes...He used the word “legitimate” correctly, meaning “real,” or “properly identified”… but the left has twisted his statement to ridiculously imply that he believes some rapes are acceptable, proper, lawful. A completely different use of the word than he intended, as is obvious to anyone with sense...

Todd Akin has been in Congress for a dozen years, and in those years, he has amassed a rock-rib conservative voting record. His lifetime ACU rating is 97.24%, clocking in last year at just under 92%. A splendid voting record that terrifies the left...

Her [Claire's] lifetime ACU rating in the Senate is a miserable 14.6%; her 2011 ranking was a perfect 0%. This is no moderate; she’s a solid leftist in the mold of Obama, Biden, Reid, and Pelosi. That’s not the kind of representation that the voters of Missouri want in Washington.

And here is what the left fears: A strong conservative Republican in a borderline conservative state will hammer hard on the real issues in this campaign – the overspending, the crippling taxes, the overgrown bureaucracy, the budget-busting entitlement culture, the mushrooming debt. And he will be able to talk about every McCaskill vote on the wrong side of every issue that matters. --John F. DiLeo, Illinois Review

-"I can forgive his “oops” what I can’t forgive his his utter selfishness."

I totally agree. Seems like we confuse the 'cause' with the 'person', and the 'person' confuses himself with the 'cause', and the 'cause' is bigger than any one person.

People need to understand that we are fighting this cause, not only in our communities, but also in the 'political' world, and Todd Akin is no "Reagan" where he's built up this immense following that would at least give some pause to his candidacy. He's nothing but a district "Congressman" who's never represented anyone outside his district.

Yes, the left is attacking him mercilessly, and THEY also contributed to get him elected (tells you something).

Exactly. No, I was not a Romney supporter. Yes, I am voting for him as there is no other choice.

SUPREME COURT is the only reason I’m voting for Romney. Hopefully, he will appoint pro-life judges as Obama certainly never will.

There are choices in MO. Akin is damaged goods and should drop out. He is hurting many races by staying in.

Then our job, as pro-life proponents, is to pursuade people that abortion is WRONG, it is UNHEALTHY, and there are alternatives.

So, in the past half hour or so you have supported the following positions:

1. You have parroted the "I'm personally opposed, but I don't think I should force my views on others" line.

2. And now you are offering an alternative version of "abortion should be safe and legal and rare."

Why don't you go ahead and tell us that the question of when life begins is "above your pay grade" and you can score the Democrat talking point trifecta.

“Rep. Akin is likely much farther ahead since Public Policy Polling skews Democratic.”

The fact is this PPP poll over sampled Rep by 9% just to get Akin a 1 pt lead to influence him to stay in. So tell me who is behind trying to keep Akin on the ticket and for what reason?

That hardly supports the “Fable of the Magic Uterus” theory of Todd Akin.
Where did he ever present such a theory?
His statement was about abortion and that only happens after the woman becomes pregnant.

Raised Cortisol Predicts Spontaneous Abortion
High urinary levels of the stress hormone cortisol are a marker for early pregnancy loss, US researchers have found.

Do you contend that spontaneous abortions don't happen?

You are misconstruing what you see as an ‘oversample’. If more folks who were polled said they were Republican than Democrat, then that’s what happened.

No, no we can't play that game.

Every time a poll is released with Obama winning we go into denial mode here and chalk it up to an over sampling of Democrats, and there's no reason to worry. If we do that, for those polls than we can't turn around and go...oh yeah these polls are accurate because even though they over sampled Republicans...that doesn't matter because all that means is there is more Republicans so it must be accurate.

If we're not going to believe the polls that have Obama ahead because of oversampling of Democrats we can't turn around and believe the polls that have Republicans ahead because of an oversampling of Republicans.

Doesn't work that way.

Tell me what you want to see as far as abortion being outlawed. What is it like in your world... if it could be the way you want it, perfect and all.

“So all the Dims and MSM need to do is create a side show the wounds a Pubbie and we then shoot the wounded?

.................um, this was a self-inflicted wound.”

Yeap, much easier to blame a MSM/Dem conspiracy instead of acknowledging we have a seriously flawed candidate.
This is not the first mistake Akin has made, research the “stage 3 cancer remark”.

Wouldn’t safe, legal and RARE be SO MUCH better than the murder free-for-all on the tax-payer’s dime that we have now?

“Your position is a pro-choice position. You are not personally pro-life, you are personally pro- choice and therefore you are personally pro-abortion.”

Judge not lest you be judged?

“Don’t pretend that because you are not personally involved in the holocaust that is going on that you will not be judged by God for what has gone down. God will judge your heart. And in this case your heart lies with those who support Roe v Wade.”

Well at least I now know who to go to to have my soul pre-checked before I have to face my maker. Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate it.

November 6, 2012, 7:05 PM,

The polls have just closed in Missouri and this just in, with 10% of the vote now counted it looks like Claire McCaskill has been re-elected for SIX MORE YEARS. Yes, the network is projecting a win for McCaskill.

No surprise there now was there? Too bad, so sad.

If it were only Missouri that will be effected by Congressman Stupid, I wouldn’t be so worried. It’s already spilling, no POURING, right on over to Paul Ryan and other critical races.

How are all these idiots going to feel when we lose the White House and the Senate because of this Neanderthal?

Hope I’m wrong, but it is concerning.

It's really quite simple. Abortion is MURDER, murder is against the law.

Do you really need a more thorough explanation?

“But Akin, saying that if you are really raped- you will not get pregnant- is NOT helping to get that message out to others, is he?”

“Why do you keep insisting he said something he didn’t? Do you feel that twisting his words is the only way you can “win” the argument?”

If you hold the opinion that Akin just misspoke, then you have to defend his use of the term “legitimate rape.”

That is the term that is hung around his neck forever.

I am stunned as to how Huckabee and Shafly have turned this into some sort of Christian victimization of Akin by Rove or GOPe.

Akin’s use of the phrase “legitimate rape” was bizarre and offensive, borderline misogynist.

Our ire at Akin has nothing to do with his prolife/Christian/Family Values, EVERYTHING TO DO WITH HIS LACK OF WISDOM.

I will not be bullied by these Christian groups with a chip on their shoulder to reframe the argument that Akin’s problem is the GOPe.

Akin’s problem is his thought processes are bizarre and have nothing to do with Christ or Christianity.

But I’ll say one thing. Akin is a sign to me to turn away entirely from this election because it is a sign and symbol that Obama can win.

Just remember, Obama is not the problem, he is the symptom. God judges the Church first. WE have failed. I have failed. God have mercy.
