If in fact Akin does petition court, and Carnahan does not unnecessarily delay her (and others) decision the state central cmte. of the MO Republican Party would have 28 days or until Oct. 12 (whichever comes first) to name a replacement. But Carnahan/Dems could conceivably drag this out. Prolong the agony. She is not standing for re election so public opinion matters little to her.
That is exactly my point. If this is done quickly, Carnahan cannot play games and drag this out - there will be too much statewide and national attention put on her.
She will be publicly reminded that her own dead father was illegally elected.
Akin needs to go today, but I will settle for the opening day of the Democratic Convention as an alternative, since they are making the entire show about him.
