Remember this from previous post http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2920927/posts about when a 26 y/o woman punched a 70 y/o Batavia, NY Walmart cashier last Christmas eve? Here is reporting on the trial testimony. Particularly note: the videos of the incident do not show a receipt checker between the express register and the exit doors.

I could buy that she was struck accidentally. It would be a hard sell, but I could buy it. It happens.
But "I don't remember"? Please. My kids come up with better lies on the spot, and she's had a long time to think about it.

Next, for the prosecution, Samual Hackenberg (an assistant manager) testified that he didn't arrive on scene until after Suozzi was hit. After ensuring Suozzi was being cared for, he went outside to see what was gong on.
He testified that once outside, he said he heard Simmons say, "do you think I care about these dirty white people?"

“I feel horrible about it,” Simmons said
I’m sure the only thing she fells bad about is getting caught.

how was I supposed to know she was standing right in front of me? They're called eyeballs. They gather data and send it to the brain. If one has no brain...well...then I can understand this woman's lament.

He testified that once outside, he said he heard Simmons say, "do you think I care about these dirty white people?" Can you imagine if this had been a young white women who punched out an elderly black cashier and then said "do you think I care about these dirty black people?". It would be national news and the FBI, Homeland Security, and Eric Holder's Justice Department would all be investigating and she would facing life in prison on hate crimes charges.

The more I see photos of average Americans in the news, the more I think of this:

Yep, FBI and DOJ would be there by the dozens.
The whole article is well worth reading.

Simmons last statement before allegedly hitting Suozzi was, "I'm not showing the f*cking white bitch the receipt."
So why isn't this considered a hate crime?

I know this is obscure, but it has baffled me since my son was at USC and after a year or so in LA started saying “on accident” instead of “by accident”. This is really the first time I have seen this grammatical error in print, although I ran into another person from LA who says it all the time. My son quit saying it after he was back on the east coast for awhile. Can anyone tell me the origin of this strange change of a prepositional phrase? Don’t be too unkind; I really want to know.

I think it comes from the phrase “on purpose”, as in “I hit her on purpose.” You wouldn’t say, “I hit her by purpose.”
I do agree with you. It’s wrong. “By accident”, then “on purpose.” Not “by purpose” or “on accident.”

Surely Eric Holder will support Jacquetta as he wants to “look out for and take care our people.”

The last part of speech that one masters is the preposition.

That's an interesting observation. Are you saying that the prosecutor has no command of the English language?
