It certainly will rouse a whole new wave of curiosity about this matter that, at best, has only ill been put at rest. Barack really did not do wisely to throw those stones inside that glass house.
He even believes in a weird religion that sprang up on US soil (yeah I know theologically and analytically it’s the same old same old heretical borrowing from paganism, but still LDS is very much a US thang).
And who but a redneck would tie a dog carrier to the roof of a station wagon, complete with dog in it? (I guess one that doesn’t respect huntin’ dawgs that much, but you can’t have everything.)

The only reason Mitt was born here was because his family had to flee their polygamist compound in Mexico.
Mitt is still worth being wary of in our plans, but to me, simple prudence suggests it is better for the condition of the country now to vote towards a situation where Mitt comes out ahead of Barack. It’s kind of hard to critique how good or bad a job the GOP is doing at keeping itself conservative in a country which threatens to cease to exist as we know it. Survival to fight another day matters. The thing we call a vote is as much of Caesar’s world as the political system that promulgated it. It never defined a vote as being a particularized blessing or endorsement. It is simply a way of allowing the hand of the public to be upon the railroad switches of state. (Why weren’t the neverMitts of the world all apoplectic over the primaries in which non-Mitt candidates could in principle have easily prevailed — if people got off their duffs? Why is their wrath spent upon general elections?)
And so fate is funny that way.
