A newspaper in Argentina is reporting that former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford has proposed to his girlfriend, Maria Belen Chapur.
The relationship was revealed in June of 2009 when Sanford, who was then governor, took off without telling anyone where he went. It was later revealed Sanford had been in Argentina visiting Belen Chapur.
After his return, Sanford admitted to the extra-marital affair, which eventually led to the divorce from his wife, Jenny.
Clarin.com reports Sanford and Belen Chapur became engaged last Wednesday through a proposal Sanford planned with the employees of a Palermo restaurant where the couple had met for lunch. When translated from Spanish to English, the report described the proposal as "a scene from a novel."
Sanford has four boys with Jenny.

I am sorry his family couldnt stay together.I wonder what the kids think of all that has happened.
At least the Republican way to cheat involves falling in love with one other woman as opposed to the Democrat way which involves a long string of meaningless physical encounters with women you barely know.
