Where and when was it shown?

It was shown between 6:30-7:00 on Ch. 5, CBS, and between 9:00-10:00 on Ch.4, FOX, during regular commercial runs during regular programming.

If it was shown during regular commercial breaks you do realize that TV stations sell blocks of air time for advertising on the local and national level and that contracts are signed ensuring that the ads/commercials run, don't you?

Your comment, although interesting, does not address my comment that Akin has made NO effort to move this issue off the table. I wanted an "I misspoke, but here's what we need to be talking about ..." ad; not a cringe-worthy talking head ad.

Don"t start being snarky with those of us who have stated that we will vote for Akin in spite of his comments, and not because of them.

Well then read my reply 65. It's all about the Benjamins.

I won’t disagree with you. It is not helping. It needs to be pulled pronto.

As mad as I am at Todd Akin for his sheer stupidity I do feel sorry for the man.

Against all odds he won the the Republican nomination for the Senate seat when two better know candidates beat up on each other and allowed Akin to steal victory.

He instantly became the odds on favorite to win the seat against the hapless incumbent. At that point he should have gathered himself and thanked God, his supporters and incredible luck for his good fortune. He should have made a vow to be a smart, deliberate, disciplined and focused candidate.

Instead he gives off-the-cuff stupid answers to a question that a high school pro-life canditate running for class president could have answered. Unbelievable!

I know he must feel sick about the whole thing. His crowning professional achievement has just been snatched away from him. He also must be furious with himself to have this opportunity to fight for just causes he feels passionate about slip away from him so quickly.

I can only imagine that it is too early for him to accept this bitter result and he is grasping at any and all possibilities to get back to that place he was at a mere ten days ago. It is a tragedy. It is a terrible personal loss, but it is one he will have to accept sooner or later.

He may still be in denial but he and others deep down must know that he can no longer be the effective spokesman and champion for the causes he claims to hold so dear.

We will soon learn what type of man Todd really is. Is his character and heart big enough to realize he made a fatal error? Is he smart enough to know that someone else has to assume the leadership role? At what point will he recognize he cannot win? Will he bow out gracefully and allow another undamaged candidate, who has an infinitely better chance to defeat Caskill, assume the nomination before it is too late.

I am really sad this happened. It is a personal tragedy for Todd Akin. However, it was a tragedy of his own making. Now, the ball is in his court. Will he accept responsibility for his own actions and allow others to do what he no longer can, namely defeat Senator Claire Caskill.

Go out a hero Todd. Do the right thing. Spend the rest of your career championing all the causes you firmly believe in, but now you have to do it behind the scenes. Be bold, be courageous, do the right thing, Todd.
