The source of my comment was that a Gecko with a Brit accent probably came from Australia or possibly New Zealand where Geckos may have originated.

Geico was obviously playing with the fact that Geico sounded similar to Gecko, and since the gecko did not have any of the accents of the many other warmer climate countries where geckos could be found, I always associated this Geico gecko with Australia. Even though I understand their is a difference between a Brit accent and Australian accent, I have difficulty telling the difference unless Australian slang is used.

One of the other insurance companies has a recent commercial where a woman who needs some information about her insurance policy directs her questions at a large green lizard...who doesn't say anything in reply.

My late father had All-State many years ago but changed after seeing a car that had a sign in the window saying "All-State didn't pay." Apart from that I wouldn't ever go with All-State because of their annoying commercials (can't stand that arrogant actor who is their main spokesman).
