Former Gov. Charlie Crist: Here's why I'm backing Barack Obama
Tampa Bay Times ^ | August 26 2012 | Charlie Crist

Posted on 08/26/2012 1:44:07 AM PDT by Cincinatus

I’ve studied, admired and gotten to know a lot of leaders in my life. Across Florida, in Washington and around the country, I've watched the failure of those who favor extreme rhetoric over sensible compromise, and I've seen how those who never lose sight of solutions sow the greatest successes.

As America prepares to pick our president for the next four years — and as Florida prepares once again to play a decisive role — I'm confident that President Barack Obama is the right leader for our state and the nation. I applaud and share his vision of a future built by a strong and confident middle class in an economy that gives us the opportunity to reap prosperity through hard work and personal responsibility. It is a vision of the future proven right by our history.

While I doubt Charlie wrote that column, I don’t doubt that he signed his name to it in the back of a Tampa “bath house”.

The only difference between Crist and Romney is the fake orange suntan.

I could easily see the KOLOBIAN supporting Hussein Obama if he wasn't running against him, they are two sides of the same coin.

Degenerate con men like Romney and Crist sure do get a lot of votes just by calling themselves Republicans though.

I notice at the end of the article, Crist is no longer a Republican, but rather, has no affiliation.

Does that mean even the Democrats don't want him?

No. The difference between Romney and First is the former defeated his primary opponents and the latter lost. That Romney, part of liberal wing in the party, won is a reflection of the other candidates' failures. Conservatives count about 60% of the party members. Since none of the conservative candidate was able to persuade conservative primary voters to vote for him/her instead of for the other guy, Romney won. Crist didn't have that luxury since conservative wing in FL was behind Rubio.

The MSM helped Romney, just as they helped Obama. Almost from the beginning of the primaries, the MSM was referring to Romney as the frontrunner, even when he wasn’t.

Just like the MSM wanted Obama, they wanted Romney and we are stuck with him. The only saving grace is Ryan.

He wants to run for Governor again, however since Scott will be on the republican side he is changing his for good. The Democrats don’t like him so he starting his is campaign to become the democratic nominee years ahead of time. This is to convince state democrats he is one of them.

Charlie Crist backing Obama? What a shocker.

Here is Florida that’s going to shift 5 maybe 6 votes.

Crist is a Democrat in his soul and has zero respect. If anything, this is a positive for Romney, as very, very few Floridians respect this POS.

He is now making a living selling his name to some ambulance chaser.

-——But an element of their party has pitched so far to the extreme right on issues important to women, immigrants, seniors and students that they’ve proven incapable of governing for the people. Look no further than the inclusion of the Akin amendment in the Republican Party platform, which bans abortion, even for rape victims.——

The Akin Amendment??? No such thing exists ....

I am surprised the paper let me get away with such a blatant bold faced lie....well maybe not that surprised

He does seem to be akin to the Russians in his backing the saboteurs against peace and prosperity.

Gotta make you wonder just a little about Florida, for them to have elected such a creep. Not as bad as Minnesota, though.
