Right, as in a gas mask. When the tear gas flies, the bad guys would want to stay functional, so they can hit the cops with their BB guns and irritate them enough so that they over react. And so, they would have the need to make very sure of their gas mask seals.
Oh, that makes more sense. I was thinking like those goofy Guy Fawkes masks.
