To: Alas Babylon!

Morning AB, All.

Of course, as always, I thank our esteemed AB for arising on Sundays and posting this thread. With a bit of smug I tap in and dependably, the thread is always here.

I sure do miss Altura. But if you tell anybody I said that I’ll have to deny it.

Anyways, a quick rant, indulge me, about last night. For even as I type my hands still shake from the terror of it.

Okay, it was only a thunderstorm and goodness ole Isaac is really messing things up down Florida way.

But yon ladies and gems....THIS THUNDERSTORM WOULD NOT STOP!

All night, lightening, thunder, lightening, thunder.

Which if it were just me I might be okay (we lost power for two hours last evening as even then the thunder and lightening was going on) but the DOG....in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, this dog is ten years old, weighs almost a hundred pounds, got teeth that can eat an entire cow, raw. That’s including the bones.

Yet comes the thunder and she’s scared, pacing, panting. I have her come up and sit with me on my handy-dandy Lazyboy type chair. She does at times. She sits and pants, I pet, if I stop petting she nudges arm, I pet more.

She then gets down as the chair sits in front of the window and she don’t like that. She paces and pants and finally, two in the am, husband knocks.

“You need some help with the dog?”

Husband too is scared of thunder boomers but he knows how the dog is so he peeps in to help.

He summons the dog to come with him but one full minute later the dog’s back scratching at the door.

I let her in, she paces, she pants....and on and on.

This booming did not stop until daylight...ALL NIGHT....thunderbooming.

Well I survived but anybody looking for a ten year old dog, can eat an entire cow at one sitting?

It sounds like you need to try the Thunder Shirt! I don’t know if you’ve seen the ads for it, but maybe it would work for your poor doggie.
