Were the governor of Illinois a Republican, he could light a fire underneath Rahm & company by proposing to send the state national guard to help police the city.

Even if it was purely administrative assistance, the city fathers would freak out about it and order the cops to step on the troublemakers like insects.

Yep. Grew up on the north side, a mile and a half from the lakefront. Live in the suburbs now, watching the decay from a ringside seat. Still work in the city unfortunately. Funny thing is how many people accept criminal behavior as to be expected.

It is amazing to see how the city despite it’s downtown (Michigan Ave.) beauty become more a jungle or should I say a “wild west” town since I grew up in the 60’s under old man Daley. Even as I became a teen in the 70’s the riff-raff had already started harassing and victimizing the “oppressors.”

Cops back then took justice into their own hands and kept the wolves at bay. Now, it is unfortunately a free-for-all. Rahm was Richie’s hand-picked successor pulling the typical Democrat liberal stupidity. Well, that’s how dis fiefdom is run. Luckily, some smarties over the years changed Chicago from meat packer, steel town into a more malleable and reboundable economy center. It may not become Detroit in that respect, but you’ll find fewer and fewer spenders heading into da city.

When I leave it’ll be comparable to Lot leaving Sodom and Gomorrah, good riddance. This is a perfect study of one party politics and its inevitable outcome. You ain’t seen corruption until you’ve been to Chicago.

Just an extension of the Mexican drug wars.

The left wanted them here and they’ve got them.

Are we allowed to say that they are black youth, or is that not allowed?????

Making basic truthful observations is no longer allowed. Any futher utterance will result in your identification and surveillance.

A few years ago there was a vicious street crime in Georgetown, DC, generally one of the safest, most upscale parts of the city. Around the same time there was sudden ‘street crime’ near the National Mall with the monuments, Smithsonian., etc. Pretty much unheard of!
The perps were ‘young people’ who’d crossed town. That was cracked down on REAL fast. The powers-that-be that allow/disregard crime in ‘certain’ neighborhoods won’t allow, and cannot afford, crime in others.

And we will continue to have Black Racists and White Guilt Liberals try to cover up for these Black Ghetto Thug Gang Bangers....like the publisher of this article, for refusing to ID the racial background of the perps and the victims

We need to rise up against Black Ku Klux Klan racism....if you can’t call it such, we become part of the problem. And these recent Black crime waves against Whites are all race-based

“Are we allowed to report they’re black ?” No and if you listen to radio news...WLS WGN etc at least could report the neighborhood where they’re comming from but that’s even taboo . There’s organization and money behind this. They want to destabilize the area and all that goes with it.

I hope you are correct. Chicago now is a great place, for singles, for empty nesters and even for wealthy people with kids. Ordinary people with children must flee to the suburbs because the schools are so awful. City-wide crime will chase the childless away as well. Then whose taxes will pay for criminal element's free stuff? Or will the free stuff be all federal?

Frankly, I think that Chicago is a "test case," where Emmanuel is "grooming" Chicago, as part of a plan by Valerie Jarret to declare martial law, and see how much they can get away with. Possibly getting this to spread to other cities.

As a native of Chicago, who left in 1969, I can remember as a teenager and young woman going down to the Magnificent Mile on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and just window shopping. I couldn’t afford to patronize the kind of stores that line Michigan Ave. But I vowed that someday when I could afford it, I would come back and spend money on all those things I coveted.

Ain’t gonna happen. I can well afford it now and if it were not for the safety issue I could do it but I’m not taking my life in my hands. Chicago is lost. I’ll remember it as it was during my growing up years but I’ll be spending my money in upscale Texas stores now.

Chicago is becoming the most dangerous city in the world.

No it's not, it's ALREADY the most dangerous city in the world. I work in it DAILY. It looks nice downtown but the reality is it's a cesspool of humanity just waiting to have it's Katrina moment on a much LARGER scale.

It seems as if the youth gangs are coming up from the south side and the west side.

Are we allowed to say that they are black youth, or is that not allowed?????

By the “politically correct code” of the mainstream media, such perps may not be identified as black. If you go to the linked site you’ll see a picture of one of these youths taken from the rear. He’s fairly obviously black.

I think you’ll see such folks frequently identified as “yutes” (the typical pronunciation of ‘youths’ made by their usual apologists/defenders such as Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson) on a number of forums. It usually gives me a laugh, but some folks here refer to them as ‘Amish’.

Instant maturation experience?

The incompetence and downright ignorance of the imbeciles being excreted by our vaunted "education" system are absolutely appalling! :-(
