Conn. average gas price jumps above $4

he average price of a gallon of regular self-serve gasoline in Connecticut has jumped above $4 this weekend.

That's according to Saturday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express. It shows the price rose to $4.003 overnight, from $3.999 on Friday.

The last time the average price went above $4 was May 16 of this year. The highest average of $4.39 per gallon was recorded on July 9, 2008.

Connecticut motorists are now paying more than they were a year ago, when the statewide average price for gasoline was $3.91. Problems with refineries and pipelines elsewhere in the country helped push gasoline prices higher over the last several weeks.

I assume the big blowup in Venezuela has some effect on US prices, and the hurricane will be another factor. If they waiver out ethanol, then there will be another significant reduction in supply.

Then, they get the government they deserve. Can't feel sorry for them. I feel sorry for me, though.

Born there. Spent the first eighteen years of my life there. My family would like to see where hubby/dad was born and raised. I will not set foot back in that state.

GOOD..... Screw Connecticut. They are one of the bluest of Blue States. I hope to hell they’re paying $6.50 per gallon by Election Day.

Got $3.93 at the Fast Freddies in Danbury today. That’s usually the cheapest.

Too bad that all the 0 bummer voters have to pay higher prices for fuel, food, etc. Oh wait, they get the EBT cards so that won’t affect them like it does me.

Yes, but the increase in vehicle gas mileage will cancel that out. It needs to be done.

Good. Any state that doesn’t contribute some energy resource for the country ought to have to pay through the nose for using resources that others supply.

Hell, I hope the whole country is paying $6.50 from now until the election if it ensures a Romney victory. Consider it a campaign contribution when you fill up at these outrageous prices.
