This morning on the radio, I heard there were 35 shootings and 9 dead.

Chicago is far from the U.S.’s most dangerous city much less the world’s.
It can be very dangerous in certain neighborhoods which refuse to cooperate with police and where the residents hang out on street corners at all hours. If the killers were the KKK would they not cooperate. Residents are enablers of these killings.
What percentage of those recently shot belong to street gangs or were associated with their members? How many were the result of gang wars? But most of the city is very safe. The biggest threat people face is the traffic. Now that threat is horrific.
Unfortunately there are not any Chick-fil-As in the City.
Rahm the Wonder Horse should push the welcome of C.f.A. as a CRiME fighting measure. Good idea.
A world with no Chicago would be a world worth less.
Cities are where civilization is created.
Where there is freedom bad things can happen.
Apparently you need learning in many areas, other than mindless nonsense.
In the late 1800s the Democrat Party was controlled by a coalition of saloon-keepers, gamblers and brothel owners. The biggest gambler in the city was the head of the Cook County Democrat Party, guy named Mike Cassius McDonald. He made and broke politicians throughout the state for decades.
At one period the residents of certain North side neighborhoods actually hired their own police force because of the crime. Crime closely associated with the Democrats.
Crooks operated out of the bars and when arrested their political allies (all Democrats, of course) would bail them out and make sure their cases were dismissed. Judges, aldermen, bureaucrats were all controlled by the criminal power.
So things are not that bad today. Now the crooks have to take care to disguise themselves.
The corruption of the cities is little different than the corruption throughout the nation. It is just magnified in size and audacity in the cities.

Actually I kind of like Chicago. It’s pretty nice, new, clean and articulate, compared to East Coast cities like Boston, Baltimore, Filthydelphia etc.
Except, of course, for the RATs and hoards of murdering little bastards.
Just watched a couple of episodes of “Boss” last night and I have to say the city looked absolutely stunning.
It is a mixture of insanity and genius. You have to laugh to be able to survive. And its history is riotous. Read “Gangs of Chicago” by Herbert Asbury. Hilarious stuff and all true. The Town that Billy Sunday could not shut down, indeed. You want the Best, it is here; you want the Worst, it is also here.
People here are pretty friendly, if they aren’t trying to kill you. Just kidding.
I loved the little Arkansas town of my youth, too and was very happy there.
Until the Black culture changes and it stops producing Vicious Bastards there will be no chance of changing the anti-social, misogynistic culture which produces them. Certainly Chicago is not unique in having this problem or in not facing the real issue.
The mob attacks you reference are very few even if widely reported and are not limited to Chicago.
Personal opinion on your part.
I hate cities and if you call what happens in Chicago on a daily basis civilization then you’ve got a lot to learn. 90% of America’s problem are the freaks that live in cities.
I’ll take small town America any day.
In Chicago being dead has never stopped them from voting. I wouldn’t be surprised if Al Capone were still voting.
