But go ahead and pretend they don’t exist or try telling the victims that their rape wasn’t really THAT stressful if you think doing so serves some purpose.

Obviously, it doesn't occur in all cases, or probably in a majority of cases, but it is not the out-of-the-blue idea that is being promulgated by the media, or people hyperventilating over his comments.
