I personally think that Aiken's statement about "legitimate" rape could be at the bottom of the controversy. Many cries of "rape" are not that. They start out on a consensual basis, but sometime during, or after the encounter, something changes, and the encounter suddenly becomes "rape"...if you know what I mean.
