These rules do NOT have the best interests of grassroots conservatives at heart.
They are designed to cut any influence by normal republicans from all important processes.
Finally, whether adopted or not, THEY SHOW THE HEART of the liberals running the Romney show.
- allow presidential campaigns to, in essence, fire duly elected delegates they dont like and replace them with individuals of their own choosing;
- allow changes to the Republican Party Rules between Conventions, without a vote of delegates elected by the grassroots of the Party; and
- undo the rules regarding the primary calendar that were designed to stop the trend toward front-loading the primary season and preserve the opportunity for Republicans across the country to have a say in who their presidential candidate would be.

Only one purpose in this: stop reform of a system that allows 2-3 states to choose the republican candidate.

I know someone who lives in Ohio who is backing and organizing for Gary Johnson knowing that votes in Ohio for Johnson are really votes for Obama.

There was no coup. The issue has been resolved as of 12 hours ago.

It appears that there is a compromise but I don’t trust the establishment. They’re just regrouping and rearming.

LOL...are we still anybody but 0bama?
The GOP shows their hand. The grassroots must really have them scared if they are willing to take away the power of the people...their constituents.
LOL..are we still “no third party?”
If they are so afraid we could upend nomination events...are we close enough to truly tell them to go to hell in a hand-basket yet?

The GOP is a club and therefore not bound by a Constitution but by self-made rules (see other governments for examples).
Romney is just being the big dog in the fight.
Isn't becoming to whine about losing.

compromise or not, read the 3 points above and see what is in the HEART of the romney/gop-e camp.
They have a dictatorial spirit operating within them.

Isn't becoming to whine about losing. It isn't becoming to slurp elitists in public, either. RNC (and their ballwashers) can KMA.

Wake up, FReepers. There is only one political party in America. It has a left and a right wing, but it is ONE PARTY. If conservatives ever want to stop America from its march toward Socialism, we have to form a third party.
Anything else is suicide.

I don’t trust them a bit but is they want to commit party suicide, they need to do it out in the open.

Is Rule 12 still in the document? If so, then nothing is resolved.
