You are absolutely right that this scaenario could play out as described. But most doctors are still residually ethical enough to not steilize most girls (unless there is some Sangerian "eugenic indication": low-IQ girl of minority race who already has one out-of-wedlock infant,for instance.)

More likely is that a doctor could convince the girl to be put on persistent endocrine disruptors: patches, implants and injectable hormones which will shut down their healthy female physiological functioning for a month, three months, a year, longer (depending on the number and size of the implants.) The parents themselves might want this. It's happening already: (chemically) spayed girls, barely adolescent, whose parents thereater don't give a flip about their integrity of body or soul --- as long as they don't become pregnant --- and are more or less content to have them casually violated by anybody who comes along, or stumble through their teen years as sexual spittoons.
