Lord Maginnis quits the Ulster Unionist Party after he was reprimanded for homophobic remarks

A Northern Irish politician has resigned after comparing homosexuality to bestiality.

The Belfast Telegraph reports Lord Maginnis quit the Ulster Unionist Party today (28 August) after having been a member for 50 years. He said he had ‘agonized’ over the decision in the last three months.

On BBC Northern Ireland's Stephen Nolan show in June 2011, Maginnis said he was opposed to gay marriage because it was ‘unnatural’ and he did not believe society should ‘have imposed on it something that is unnatural’.

He said: ‘Does that mean that every deviant practice has to be accommodated? Will the next thing be that we legislate for some sort of bestiality?’

The 74-year-old later stood by his remarks, saying people who committed ‘unnatural physical acts’ as deviants.

He added: ‘These are people that seem to take some pride expressing their particular rights.

‘I disagree with those rights and that deviance.’

Although I am against all forms of hateful speech, I do feel this 74 year old's remarks for the most part have logic behind them. Not so long ago, his purview was the mainstream one, and he would not have been forced into resignation, nor viewed as engaging in homophobic remarks.

I’m not against all forms of hateful speech. I think the very idea is laughable. I think he was spot on.

You missed the memo: ANY opposition to ‘same sex marriage’ = homophobic hate speech.

The left keeps pushing the argument further their way. That was the point of the Chick-Fil-A MSM meltdown. Anyone opposed to their agenda needs to be re-educated.

I think he was fully in the right, thus not engaging in truly hateful speech, as I would define it.

Right. Why are you against ‘hateful speech’ when it comes to a discussion of political issues?

Is “hate” now a trump card that ends all debate?

Preventing young men from engaging in a perverted lifestyle that will shorten their lifespan by 20-30 years (15% of gay men are HIV positive in the US) is hardly a hateful act. Cigarette smoking is far less dangerous and there are constant commercials and warnings. Where are the warnings regarding the ‘gay lifestyle’?

Yes, I know, and it is becoming intolerable. Just obnoxious, arrogant, and intolerable.

“Hey chief, we got a problem here. A gay black man insulted two lesbians for holding hands. Yeah, the gay black man is a 2 pointer where the lesbians combine for a point so I don’t think I can arrest him. OK hold on.
Charlie, see if either of the lesbians is an illegal. What? She is? OK, arrest the black guy, it’s a tie. What? He is? Hold on. Chief, the black gay guy says he is wearing women’s underwear. That puts him at a 3 and the lesbians as a 2. I gotta let him go.
Nah, I’ll do the shooting after this gets settled. We are running an underwear check. Charlie a thong is not technically cross-dressing. Oh a bra. Cut him loose.”.

I object to the word “Homophobic”. It implies that there is a fear of homosexual people.

I’m not scared of them. I just don’t accept their delusions as legitimate reality.

This is another example of the success that those waging war on the survival of traditional nations are having throughout much of the Western World. We will go on losing the war for a future, unless we stop treating the studied intimidation of dissent with respect, and speak more bluntly on the actual issues.

It is unfortunate, because it will not happen; but it would have been nice if someone had invited Lord Magginis over to the Republican Convention, to address the delegates on what is coming to America, if they do not stand fast for the heritage that we are losing on both sides of the Atlantic. We are not very far behind the now Egalitarian United Kingdom nations.

Where are the national health nannies like Mayor Bloomberg when it comes to homosexual health issues? No, it’s much safer to attack fat folks and demonize certain foods and restaurants.

Almost without exception we allow the wordsmiths on the left to define the terms of the debate. We are starting 20 yards in the hole every time we allow this to happen.

You are right, and I don’t know a single person who is afraid of SSADs (same sex attraction disorder) but I know many who are repulsed by their deviant behavior in public and their attempt to lower the status of marriage to include their butt pirate activities.

Their entire world centers around their crotch and like EVERY group which is easily offended, they get their panties in an uproar when anyone dares make mention of their inferior behavior. They know they are in the wrong so their response has to be so over the top nobody will dare challenge them. Well I do.

Try this on for size - Homosexuality is WORSE than bestiality. Generally, the beast doesn’t choose to engage in perversion.

I purposely used the word “delusion”. I don’t know much about male relationships, but the female relationships attempt to imitate a male-female relationship by having one of the partners to assume their view of a masculine role. And when you examine this woMAN’s actions, you can still see the feminine influence.

I liked the character’s view in that movie with Jack Nicholson and Shirley McClain, when he was asked how, as a writer, he was able to accurately portray women in his books. He said, “First I think of a man. Then I remove reason and accountability.” Butch women still lack that reason and accountability.

That’s why I think they’re delusional.
