A funny thing happened on race-obsessed MSNBC tonight. The liberal network failed to give viewers coverage of the speakers who happen to be member of racial minorities. As Francesca Chambers, Editor of Red Alert Politics, reported on August 28th:
"When popular Tea Party candidate Ted Cruz, the GOP nominee for Senate, took the stage, MSNBC cut away from the Republican National Convention and the Hispanic Republican from Texas speech."
"MSNBC stayed on commercial through former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis speech, as well. Davis, who recently became a Republican, is black. Then, when Puerto Rican Governor Luis Fortunos wife Luce Vela Fortuño took the stage minutes later, MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews opted to talk over the First Ladys speech. And Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval? Noticeably missing from MSNBC, too. Mia Love, a black candidate for Congress in Utah, was also ignored by MSNBC."
Why is MSNBC trying to exclude conservative Republicans of color in their coverage? Could it be that they are aghast that they're not on the side of the infallible Barack Obama? Could it be because it cuts against their persistent whine that the GOP is the party of "dog whistle" politics aimed at working-class white voters?
It's irnoic since Daily Beast contributor Michael Tomasky friviously labeled this year's RNC convention as racist.
Shall we take bets on when Condi Rice's speech is interrupted by a Michelin tire commercial?
Who cares what MSNBC does - who really was watching the liberal fiasco named the GOP convention anyway.
I actually watched the channel...???that carries the NEWS HOUR with that liberal black woman who does the debates, and Judy Woodruff...good coverage and when it came to them doing interviews with guests I changed channels, especially when they chatted with that dude David Brokes...(sp) ....liberal dude..judy grates my ONE remaing nerve so then when to FOX..
All 10 viewers will be disappointed.
Since when has their audience doubled?
No GOP time should voluntarily be given to Punk Matthews.
I hate to say this, but....I stayed tuned to CSPAN which showed everything going on in the convention hall, including all the speeches. FNC had that idiot Shepard Smith going wild over “Issac” while not a drop of rain or heavy wind was in New Orleans!!! I would say CSPAN coverage was the best. CNN & MSNBC not worth commenting on.
It's probably a lesson imprinted by upon them by their parent network, NBC. The Law and Order series was so predictably racist. Invariably, the victim was some minority (in some cases a muzzie) and the villain was white, in many episodes a Christian who sent his children to private school. I can't understand why the otherwise admirable Fred Thompson allowed himself to appear on this propaganda vehicle thinly disguised as entertainment.
Even on weekends, MSNBC can't escape from the drumbeat of mythology and lies.
10:00 -- NBC's Brian Williams Open Convention Broadcast With ... RAPE! -- Tony Lee
As voters who haven't been obsessed with the horse race tune in for the first time on national television networks like NBC, Brian Williams opens the 10 p.m. broadcast on NBC by covering Hurricane Isaac, not mentioning Obama was campaigning instead of devoting all of his energy to monitoring the storm and preparing for its aftermath. Brian Williams, right off the bat, asks Marco Rubio, who is sitting with Williams at the main desk, about rape and if he is comfortable with the party's "tone," on issues, especially women's issues.
Williams then proceeds to ask Rubio if we should already know more details about Romney than we already do, furthering the mainstream media meme that Romney is furtive and may have something to hide. NBC sets the table this way, just as some of the most important voters -- who have lives and don't pay attention to politics around the clock -- start tuning in to get their first impressions of the candidates.
RACISM is alive and sick on MSNBC.
Bump
Those pathetic racists!
Just for kicks, I did a little channel surfing to see how the other channels were handling the convention. Fox News, I thought, did a reasonably objective job, though more favorable to the Republicans.
The MSNBC hosts and "analysts" were shrill, clearly playing the mouthpiece for the DNC and Obama campaigns. Though I had heard about it before, I find it absolutely appaling that their network slogan is "Lean Forward" -- practically verbatim as the Obama campaign's "Forward" slogan. Between Matthews and Maddow, it's hard to watch for longer than 15-30 seconds, max.
CNN was surprisngly objective, for the little bit that I watched. Certainly, they have their left-wingers, but there was some balance.
tonight during the main speeches I am going to go to c span and check them out...
I never watch MSNBC nor any of the local channels...
