LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - "2016: Obama's America," the right-wing documentary that has rocked the box office with its challenge to the president's record, will expand to about 1,800 theaters on Friday, Rocky Mountain Pictures told TheWrap Monday night.
That's up from the 1,091 theaters it played in over the weekend, when it took in $6.2 million between Friday and Sunday for a per-screen average of $5,940 - the best of any film in wide release. It added another $1.2 million at the box office Monday.
Produced for roughly $2.1 million, the film - with its catchphrase, "Love Him. Hate Him. You Don't Know Him" - has made $10.3 million since its release seven weeks ago and has surpassed "Bully" as the year's top-earning documentary.
The expansion will surely benefit from the buzz surrounding the ongoing Republican National Convention. Part of it will target the Heartland, a primary focus of the long-term rollout strategy according to MJM Entertainment's Mark Joseph, who is handling the film's marketing with co-director John Sullivan.
Theaters also will be added in New York, Portland, Los Angeles, Boston, Austin, Tex., and San Francisco. Joseph was still analyzing Monday's box-office numbers and said the expansion count remained fluid.

Thought this was worthy of Front Page news.
Hopefully more will learn from this movie so trying to help get the word out - especially now that it is expanding.
Adjust, of course, if you deem necessary. Thanks.
Well that beefs it, even though I get the whole gist of the movie, and know almost everything in it, I am going to see it anyways!
Good! I hope to get up to see it as well.
Me too. I’ll go to the Seniors Matinee. Should’t be too many screaming rug rats. Don’t like going to movies alone. Wish you were somewhere near Santa Cruz and we could go together.
Oh well, guess I’ll “woman up” and go alone.
I love that the “critics” rate it as “so-so”, but the fans say it is must go.
Someone suggested on another thread that the RNC should buy up tickets and hand them out for free. I think this is a stellar idea, if they targeted real voter groups! (Such as handing them out at a senior center or something like that.)
I saw it over the weekend and enjoyed it, though there wasn’t a lot of info that hadn’t already been covered here on this web site! :o)
No, buy copies of the DVD's and mail them to residents of very blue counties, cities and streets...
My guess, people will watch it...
Yeah that’s a great idea - hopefully they are monitoring FR
If that title weren't already taken, D'Souza could have aptly titled this film the same.
“Critics” are probably Obama-worshipers who can’t stand the idea of anything truthful not being masked by the MSM.
One would think that a movie like this would cause some enterprising journalist to begin vetted the Messiah.
It would almost seem impossible not to have the media start looking into the authenticty of it.
It was the #2 movie in America on Monday...$1.2 million dollars, only $160,000 behind the #1 flick, ‘Expendables 2’, but in only ONE-THIRD as many theaters. Congratulations to all involved...
Just saw the movie. The power of the movie is its reasonable approach.
Its strength is putting the information that you already suspect into a logical framework.
You may know what BHO is, but do you understand the “why”?
Thanks for the report
Right wing documentary?? My sister and I went to see it. WE are right wingers....there was NOTHING right wing about it.
It was PURE FACTS, nothing anti-obama. We even learned something new. That radical professor, I already forgot his name, who claimed he and barry had to stop “being buddies” because it would derail his presidency.
He was the last commnie radical mentioned towards the end. Anyone remember his name?
P.S. My sister and I made plans on Sat. to see it on Sunday, which we did.
I was shocked it was playing on Long Island because I just checked, a couple of days before that and it was only playing in NYC.
Now it’s playing all over the place!

Starting this weekend it’ll be up to 3 screens in the local AMC multiplex, including two of the dine-in theaters.
Hope they get it on DVD by mid-Sept-October for those unable to get to the movies.
Thank you (((hug)))!!!!
Ugh...total barf! What the hell is wrong with these people.
“One would think that a movie like this would cause some enterprising journalist to begin vetted the Messiah.

LOL. The MSM will now attack the movie with their own brand of lies and then claim the move is “a largely discredited right wing screed.” The AP published a critique along these lines yesterday.
I heard an interview with Dinesh D'Souza yesterday in which he said they were going to do just that.
Awesome. Hope it keeps spreading. I’m doing what little I can to help get it out there.
Saw it Sunday and the last movie I went to was almost 10 years ago.
It was good, but nothing new for me as I follow politics the way many people follow sports (Have an advanced degree in National Security - sort of like International studies, Political science, and Criminal Justice combined), so this is my area.
Hope that it has an impact on the undecided voters

Not to me, I have long ago accepted the reality that the MSM has zero interest in truth, they will make up their own version of the story from whole cloth.
I want the DVD— we can’t afford movie theater experience— not under Obamanomics.
Hope they get it on DVD by mid-Sept-October for those unable to get to the movies.
Amen to that. It’ll never get to the smaller rural areas.
Any idea what website I could go to to find out where it’s playing in New York? Hopefully it’s in Manhattan so I don’t have to buy popcorn (just a huge Sprite) and enjoy watching brains melt down all around me.
I saw The Expendables 2, and being a guy thought it was fantastic. Seeing a bunch of the 80s action stars doing their thing on the screen together was quite a sight to see. Add to that at times, it was pun after pun about whose movie which got plenty of laughs from the audience.
Take along, and pay the way of, anyone that is “so-so” on 0bama.
Don’t bother with those who won’t, for instance, believe anything other than “0bamacare will provide free healthcare on demand for everyone”.
Since it is now playing here on the Island, even though I have no money, I will play Godfather and make “an offer that can’t be refused” to my non political friends.
I will sell a piece of gold and offer them a night out to this movie, on me, including popcorn and soda (we’ll sneak in our “adult beverage”).
They only know information I pass along to them (although, to my surprise, they now start bringing up issues to me!). Seeing this documentary , I believe, will open their eyes and hopefully scare the crap out of them.
Anybody remember hearing ANY of Michael Moore’s pictures call “left wing documentarries”
When I first looked, it was only playing in the city. Now it’s also here on the Island. My sister and I went to see it on Sunday.
You MUST go.
With all of us doing what “little” we can to help get it out there....a whole lot of us “littles” equals a giant!
Believe it or not, 2016: Obama’s America was the number 2 movie in box office receipts last night, beating out every big budget Hollywood movie out there, except for the Expendables.

I’m certainly thinking about going. My only question to myself is, which day to go.
I heard the Expendables was a great movie as well...one I would actually pay to see.
But first, I must get my non political friends to see 2016 and vote for R&R to kick barrys commie butt out of the white hut and return it to it’s original prestige.
Hubby & I saw it yesterday. The theater was full & it was being shown in 2 of the multiplex spots. The showing before ours was full, too. FYI - Rave Theaters have $5.00 Tuesdays.
Any day is a good day to go, lol. My sister and I thought it was kind of “preaching to the choir”, since we already knew about most of it.
However, we did learn something new.

roberto unger. Check out the post above.
Saw it last night Theater was 3/4 full.
Sad part?
No young people...Perhaps 10 under 40.
Encourage younger people in their 20s and 30s to see it.
I am treating my son and two of his friends to the film.
I contacted my daughters and encouraged them tto see it.
The movie is taking in about 3 times as much per screen than any of the other movies out there, including Expendables.
I won’t be seeing the 2016 Obama movie. . . I know all I need to know . . and I am not on the fence on who I am going to support. Obama gets me so angry, I can’t imagine I could sit there for the entire movie anyway. It will probably be on DVD by October or Netflix, is my guess.
I saw it over the weekend and enjoyed it, though there wasnt a lot of info that hadnt already been covered here on this web site! :o)

Yes, but we are overachievers!
Young people don’t vote. My niece has a new college degree and is working at a Deli counter. Maybe they think this is the “new normal”.
A lot of young people are going to be busy on Election Day . . they won’t vote for Romney, but won’t come out for Obama either.
Hopefully this will nullify this statement.......

My spouse and I saw 2016 last Friday night. Very well done. Sobering. Disturbing. Needs seen by every voter before election day. It opened my eyes to the insights of the anti-colonialist marxist mindset. We have one chance left to save what’s left of the America we love this coming November. If we fail, then I look for America to collapse from within by 2016 ala USSR in 1989. No more lone world superpower. No more world leader. No more global economic leader. No more global reserve currency. Just another post-pinnacle nation, swirling down the drain of history, just like all the others in the world joined with it, headed down the same path.
