Press: As Isaac bore down on New Orleans, the administration's media toadies preferred to talk not about substantive issues, but on how the "shadow of Bush and Katrina" hung over the delayed GOP convention in Tampa.
Those in the press whose legs tingle at every administration utterance apparently share the view that a crisis is a terrible thing to waste. Isaac, barely making it as a hurricane, was seen as yet another chance to blame George W. Bush for something and resurrect media falsehoods about Hurricane Katrina, which hit New Orleans seven years ago.
The Republican National Convention was pushed back a day by Isaac's threat, and NBC's chief White House correspondent, Chuck Todd, accomplished an amazing feat by managing to insert not only Katrina but also the controversy over GOP Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin into his GOP convention coverage.
On the Sunday broadcast of the NBC Nightly News, Todd noted that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney had garnered "a little bit of momentum after the (Paul) Ryan pick, and then he's interrupted by two storms one a political storm in Todd Akin, which we just brought up, but now an actual storm."
Todd then opined that "as this storm moves closer to Louisiana, the specter, the sort of shadow of Bush and Katrina does hang over this convention." So does the stench of media bias.

No shadow cast by Ray (what school buses?) Nagin.
They kept on saying that Isaac would slam into Tampa. Then it would rival Katrina as it hit New orleans. The outer squalls barely glanced Tampa, and all it is for right now is a lot of wind and rain.
Even Fox News turned into the Weather Channel yesterday. All Isaac, All the Time. I watch Shep get more and more sunburned/windburned as the day went on. Maybe if he would have worn his cap facing frontwards in the beginning. . .
Was just watching CNN and they are wailing about 400,000 people losing power. WELL, they obviously have generators to do their newscasts; why don’t THEY donate some power to the unfortunate who are without?
Gotta make sure there are no escapees from the democrat plantation.
An “out in the field” reporter on CNN just said “If you’re going to be rescued it’ll be by your neighbor.”
The anchoretee said “Well, there’s so much debris on the road pick up trucks and rescuers can’t get to them.”
Apparently Bush had pickup trucks that could drive over trees but chose not to use them because he’s a racist.

The press is the number one enemy of Democracy...
Geez, F! You should try journalism sometime.
What, all the Sons of Obama are gonna be stuck in town again?
No Shiite.
This thing was only a Cat 1 and yet was all the news outlets could talk about every two minutes, literally, was the weather.
As I watched the news on Direct TV’s News, which is 8 different news channels, I kept getting confused thinking as I switched from channel to channel that I was watching The Weather channel.
I got frustrated with the coverage of what is an average weather event each year as I thought to myself “These news channels are all the same. Why do I listen to their drivel?”.
I wonder how many others Did the same thing and I further wonder if our cable boxes reflected our view point as they tabulate what we watch and when we turn channels.
I know they saw reports reflecting lost eyeballs which is lost Ad time.
They so wanted it to be such a bad storm and for Obama to swoop down and save the day.
