How about them suggesting a policy other than "you can't deport anybody" for a change?
I'd be in favor of giving a limited number of work permits (path to permanent residency, but not citizenship) in return for an equal number of deportations.
Start on each end to work permit the best and deport the worst. Meet in the middle somewhere.
You'd have a lot of them bail by choice and self-deport with a sane plan which provides a measure of mercy for those who have earned it and a measure of justice for those who have not.
