The R/D/I split is all over the place in today's polls and is generally set (IMHO) to provide a desired outcome regardless of the actual polling data.

Nope.

These numbers reflect the Missouri electorate pretty accurately:

DEM 32.7 GOP 34.1 INDY 33.2

Post 12 was kind enough to list the breakdown.

Bull hockey. Rasmussen (the most honest and trusted pollster) has Akin down by 10.

Maybe you should wait until the next time Rasmussen polls Missouri (probably in a couple of weeks) before making this judgement.

IF this poll is correct, it is a testament to how much McCaskill is disliked.

You missed nothing. They do not list their weighting and special sauce.

The situation with Akin is probably very fluid and the most recent polls might be the most accurate. Since Akin apparently isn't going anywhere, if all those outside Missouri would shutup and let the voters of Missouri decide, Akin might still pull out a victory.

No one has even mentioned her Airline scandal yet. She is so corrupt there is no reason Akin can not bring this back, but he must ignore the Rovians and Romulins, and attack.

Reince said he wouldn’t gave any money if it were even up in Missouri. This poll indicates Akin is ahead. We’ll see if other polls confirm this one.

I realize this is a little subtle for some people, but our standard should be to hold people accountable and also to be charitable.

The man made an error (concerning pregnancy and rape). I believe he has distanced himself from the error, but I don’t know by how much. So, I’m not in a good position to say whether he has met what should be our standard.

Amazingly, his position on abortion aligns with the majority, who are moderately pro-choice, insofar as he would allow a rape or incest exception. Perhaps he was trying to play both sides of the pro-life street by saying that his exception would be a rare exception. Or, maybe this was just the way he reconciled wanting to protect life within the womb with allowing a rape or incest exception.

If he wins, I would kick my own ass for saying he should leave.

You would be guessing wrong. Missourians simply don’t pee their pants every time somebody tips a sacred cow. It isn’t Kalefornia or NY. Claire is running nothing but adds about her parents and about her “support for the military”. It won’t take much to cut through that veneer. The few Akin adds that run are quick to show just how close to the Marxist she is. Missouri can handle stupid, but don’t lie to them. Congressman Skelton tried that in 2010.

I am very skeptical of this poll. Have to call it like I see it.

As I said before here, national pundits, especially eGOP and other such blatherers, should STFU and let us handle it locally here in the Show Me State. McCackel is so reviled here by conservatives, moderates and indy’s that Mr. Akin will win this race.

I have to point out this is not a National Election and the electorate a likely voter sample in MO is not the same composition as the National make up. It would pay to look at the 2010 total vote count for comparison. It even pays to note that while electing a Democrat Governor, McCain won Missouri in 2008. I believe it was only because Sarah Palin was wildly popular at every stop she made there.
This one won’t be over until they count the votes.

From the poll results: McCaskill holds a 58% to 34% lead over Akin among very liberal voters

Could someone from MO please explain to me how McCaskill loses 34% of “very liberal” voters? How is that possible? I would expect a number more along the lines of 90% to 10%. Akin, for example, got 81% vs. 5% among “very conservative” voters.
